I saw it last night and thought it was good but some parts were a let down. I read the book last spring and loved it. The book made me cry so hard but the movie...not so much. Some parts, my throat started hurting like it always does before I cry but I wouldn't cry. Towards the end I started crying though.

Read the book, hated it.
I don't care for Channing Tatum or Amanda Seyfried either so I probably will not see this movie.

They filmed an extra ending scene in January though. I know a lot of kids at school were afraid to see it because they said they were afraid it was going to be horrible and changed too mcuch.

I thought the actor that played John's father did a great job but I couldn't get in to the Savannah character, I just kept looking at her and thinking "Karen from Mean Girls."

I hated the ending though. I think they shouldn't have added a twist and kept it the same as the book.

I had the same problem when watching her in Mamma Mia! The girl can sing but :L

Also, I heard that test audiences absolutely hated the end and they had to change it.

I went and saw Dear John today! It was soooooooo goooooooood! Though, it was a major tear jerker, lolz. I cried so much! It was really good, worth going. I'm still going to finish reading the book, I love it, and I LOVED the movie.

the movie plain sucked. it was good until the near end, because you don't expect what happens because of the book.

I was GOING to see it today, but then we got hit with a blizzard and I'm going to have to wait til next weekend ): But I can't wait! I haven't read the book, and I don't like Amanda or Channing, but I think the movie looks really good
