Dear designers:

Just because I am petite does not mean I have the chest of a 9 y.o. Just because I am short does not mean I want to wear capped sleeves and pretend it is 1950. And my 5'9" DH should NOT be able to hold up a "petite" dress in front of him and have it reach the FLOOR! What are you sizing for......Petite Amazons????? :headache:

And get rid of those hideous 1970s garish prints. Solids are fine, thanks.

I hate being petite with a larger chest! I can't buy button downs unless they have an extra button in the chest for this reason. I also feel you on the lengths of petite clothes. I was looking for a shirt the other day, and I don't think there was one shirt that wouldn't reach down to my knees- not a good look on a petite!

::yes:: This. I'm the seemingly oxymoronic petite plus. I'm five feet nothing. Stores - even catalags, even my favorite shopping sources QVC and HSN - that sell pants and jeans in a petite cut have those inseams ranging from 27" on up.

Let's see,,, I'm 60" tall, Eeyores Butterfly is 58"... twenty-seven inches is almost half our heights, yet any typical person's (and we ARE typical, just short) inseam is much less than half their body height. Yeah, I see a problem here.
...!

I was having issues trying to find pants for Worlds of Fun (they provide our shorts but not pants.) I couldn't believe how many stores simply stuck short length pants in the petite section and called it petites! It's not just about length, it's about proportions. I finally found some perfectly proportioned pants that didn't need to be hemmed at Christopher and Banks. I bought five in various colors to wear to school as well. They are awesome and I will be going there again!

2. Heels- what is up with the 4 inch heels? Who is wearing these? Not only are they not comfortable, I am 5'11. I am ALREADY towering over everyone. And just because I need a lower heel, doesn't mean I need grandma shoes!

I'm with you for the opposite reason. No shoes are going to make me even average height- why put myself through the torture? I want cute, comfortable shoes that I can wear to work (and subsequently run in when a kid takes off!)

I guess we all need to dig out our sewing machines and teach ourselves to sew clothes we actually want to wear...

agnes!

Going off on a tangent here.....You know how they take pics on some rides at WDW and you can buy them afterward? We had ridden Tower of Terror and went to look at the pics. I had on a V neck top and when I saw the pic I began to LMAO. They must have taken it on the first "push down" when you are being pushed down faster than gravity could drop you. The effect was that "the girls" were pushed up....WAY UP.....and were saluting all of WDW. :rotfl2: I swear, it looked like I was wearing the world's most effective WonderBra and had gotten a breast enhancement to make them about a DDDD. They were downright ROUND, like the artificial ones. :rotfl: They could not have been any higher if I had been hanging upside down from a trapeze. :lmao:

Well, we didn't purchase the Hooters from Heaven photo. But I did tell DH that I wondered if some WDW worker somewhere has a stash of Tower of Terror "'enhanced" breast shots. :scared1::confused3:rolleyes:

Hooters from Heaven!! Hilarious!! :rotfl: I can totally see how this would happen on ToT...

Dear Designers:

Some of us are pear shaped, not apple shaped. Finding a pair of pants that fit well through the hips without sticking out a mile in the back at the waist would be lovely. Oh, and some of us wear XL b/c of our larger hips. I only have a B cup. Shirts that are looser at the bottom and more fitted up top would be nice. I don't need a huge neckline that I constantly have to readjust and worry about flashing everyone if I bend forward an inch.

Also, some girls move into Junior sizing before they have developed up top. How about making some shirts and swimsuits that have appropriate necklines? I can't hardly find my soon to be 10yo DD a swimsuit b/c she needs something like a size 18 in girls. If I jump to Juniors, they have molded breasts/bras. Not appropriate!

Ok, but having a 9 year old in size 18 is not common. A tip about the swimsuits though, at least for the 2 piece ones, you can take the pads out of most tops so you don't have the molding.

Hmm, well she's about average sized for around here. She's tall for her age, and she certainly isn't obese. She might could wear a girls size 16. Her torso is long, and some of them fit tight through the stride.

I'm not talking about a women's size 18, lol. That would be me! :) After reading your comment, I thought that maybe you were envisioning a 180lb 9 year old. No, no. :)

I know what you meant. At 9 most girls are a size 10-12 in girls sizes, maybe a 14.

Oh, but they do make those! They're baby-doll tops... :umbrella::teeth:

Maybe Land's End or LL Bean?

Dear Designers -- Gaining weight does not equal longer arms. Really. I don't need an extra few inches at the end of my sleeves just because my backside is bigger.
