Hey Girls!

I recently went to Disney for my PS and while there I had my make-up & hair trial. Now, I had originally wanted to go with Patricia LeJeune but she wasnt available to see me for when I was down there. And to be honest, who ever I was corresponding with ( I dont think it was Patricia) wasnt very nice and was kind of rude and so I decided to go with someone else.

After the trial, in the hotel, it looked pretty. But to be honest, I didnt feel blown away. Anyway, I had my e-pics taken and now when I look at the pictures 1) my make-up looks like I did it...and 2) my hair looks like a tossled mess. Im disappointed. So now I feel like, maybe I should switch and see if Patricia has my wedding day available at least. Everyone raves about her, I feel like I could trust it even though she hasnt done work on me.

I feel a little disappointed that I didnt look how I wanted, and I atleast want to look great on the wedding day...:sad2:

It possibly wouldn't hurt to switch, but you'd need to keep in mind that you may not have time for another trial with lejeune, so you may not end up being happy with it either :confused3

I suppose it depends whether you believe in "the devil you know"

I would go back to the original company and let them know that you were a little disappointed. Give them the chance to make it up to you.

On the make up I would review what I asked them to do and see if I needed to change my notes or specifically state what did not meet what I told them. Tell them exactly what you would like different. For example I would have prefered the eyes to be more dramatic, it was too natural etc. Look for pictures of make up styles you like.

If you provided them a picture of what you wanted your hair to look like then again I would state specifically why it did not meet that. Provide them the pics you used for inspiration and a pic of you after with the notes. If I did not provide them a picture I would recomend looking for pics to provide.

Depending on how the vendor reacts I would then make my decision on changing or not. It they seem genuine in wanting to make me happy then I would stay with them. Most companies will want you to be happy and will take your thoughfully provided comments and act on them. If they do not then that is when I would look for a different vendor.

Remember we can all be too self critical - ask some of your girlfriends or female family members to take a look and provide you some input on if and what could be different.

I remember reading about another bride who had the same experience you did. She booked Patricia for the wedding without being able to do a trial, and she was thrilled with how her hair and makeup turned out.

No matter who you book, they should take the time to work with you to get exactly what you want. Leave plenty of time for experimentation on the wedding day, bring pictures, and don't be afraid to speak up if your hair/makeup are not turning out the way you want.

(sigh)... I know. If i switched, I wouldnt be able to do a 2nd trial. So its a tough decision to make. I feel like everyone has raved about Lejeune, I dont think Ive heard anyone say other whise...(sigh)...

You know, I think your right. I think I shoud do everything you say: speak to them about it and see what their reaction is. Im sure they will want to make sure Im satisfied with everything- and Ill make sure to get a clear picture of what I want to look like, find some specific pictures of those ideas and present them. They were talented girls. I dont know if it was because it was so hot out and I felt like I was melting ...or what.

Thank you Carrie . Im gonna try and speak to them, I have some time to try and work with out. Im keeping my fingers crossed...

I didn't have Patricia Le Jeune, but maybe you could ask to speak to her directly?

I would suggest whether you go with her or your original company that you try to squeeze in another trial- maybe have them do your makeup for your rehearsal?

We have aour wedding in October and I was not able to book Le Juene for our wedding date as they were booked. Can you please let me know who you used that you were not ahppy with the results? I hope it is not the person I am going with. I can't imagine it would be as the photos on their site look great and they update them on a regular basis, but you never know!

Thanks!!!!! And don't stress too much, you'll be beautiful!:goodvibes

LOL, your funny. They are called: Girls Night Out.

Did you try Beaute Speciale?

I know they get good reviews on here too. Im gonna take a look at their website now...lol, thanks for reminding me. Idk. I found these girls by surfing the web. No one recommended them. Ive never heard of ANYONE on here using them. And, now that I think about it, here was our conversation (the best to my memory as she was doing my hair)...(hair stylist)..."yea, its good that your getting married in November because your hair would probably fall since your wearing it down"......ok, here's my pet peeve. I have seen some brides wear their hair down during their wedding at Disney. As a stylist, shouldnt she know how to work it so that it doesnt fall? I mean, it was kinda like she had known it would fall (being that I was having my e-pictures taken that day...maybe suggest I wear it up since its June, no???)....I mean..Ive never gotten married before so there are things that I dont know to think of. ugh. :headache:

oh! let me add this. my photographer says "are you going to get a hair & make up trial done?" :headache:...i felt so stupid saying..."yea, i did that before coming here..."

obviously it didnt look as so :sad2:

I would call Beaute Speciale, I love her work and so many brides have used her and have always been happy with her and her girls. I'm actually going to do my make-up and hair trial next week on July 1st, you should check out my PJ when I return.

I definitely will! :)

I am a bride who used Patricia without a trial with her. I had a trial with her assistant but changed my mind on how I wanted both my hair and makeup a while after the trial. Patricia did exactly what I wanted the day of the wedding . I can't recommend her enough!

If you're unhappy I would try to switch to someone else. I'm sure when you talk to them they'll say they are going to do better later on, but I personally would be stressed about it until my wedding day.

Either Patricia LeJeune or Beaute Speciale since both of them are very highly recommended and you can see pictures of other brides that have used them and see how well their hair and make-up held up.

I'm using Beaute Speciale and during my trial expressed concern about my hair staying curled since my hair generally doesn't hold a curl. They said that they use special products and work their magic and I had nothing to worry about. My hair did hold up really well that night and for the wedding they would set it better and recurl some pieces.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I am using Beaute Speciale too. I am able to fit in a trial a few days before my wedding. After checking out their website I liked how defined everyones eyes are.

I used Patricia and didn't have a trial- my home hairdresser did the trial and we took lots of pictures, although Patricia actually got me to look a lot more like my inspiration picture than my home hairdresser - she was fab!

I hope you get sorted soon :goodvibes

I was so nervous about forgetting something, so i layed everything out :upsidedow. Now, the girls came and we got started on my hair and make-up. First, my make-up turned out great. We decided on a smokey eye in browns and golds, loved it! As for my hair, initially I wasnt too keen on wearing it up. So we did a hair style with it all down, curled, and teased to give it a tossled look.

It sounds like you weren't really sure what you wanted, which is fine cause that's what a trial is for. It sounds like they made it look like what you asked for so I would do some more research into hairstyles and find out what you would like instead of down and tossled and then let them know what kind of changes you want to make. Sounds like you might now be leaning towards an updo.

That being said, I had Patricia and loved her! I did a hair trial, but we spent so long on hair that we never got to my makeup and it still turned out great on my wedding day!

Randy, her husband books her appointments, he's a bit short through email but he's awesome in person. I guess he just doesn't translate to email, lol.

I had Patricia and she was amazing. Her work is flawless.
