Deadline for Extra Magic Hours

We will be arriving late in the afternoon our first day at Disney, we would like to use the extra magic hours that evening at MGM. What is the cutoff for getting that wrist band, and can you get one after that? (Also, where do you get them?) Thanks

I don't think there is a cutoff. I am not sure if the locations are marked on a map, but we have never had trouble finding a CM handing them out.

Haven't actually used EMH before, but since we are going to this time, I've done a little research. Found this online:

"Wristbands are distributed no earlier than two hours before the park closes to the general public."

So I would think you'd be fine if you're arriving in the afternoon.

As far as where to get them the website I found said:

MGM - Main Entrance to the right of Oscar's Super Service, Echo Lake to the left of Dinosaur Gertie's, Sunset Ranch near Anaheim Produce, Courtyard near Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

You will have to check when you get there to see what parks are open extra hours. They change from week to week. Last year we closed Epcot down at 1:30 a.m.! My boys loved that. It is so much fun. You actually feel like you are the only ones there.

They will be putting the wrist bands on at the entrances. So if you are already in the park, just walk like you are leaving but get your band and go enjoy!!

There is no deadline other than the final closing of the park that night.

(You would not want to bother coming for just the last half hour or even just the last two hours as it takes time to travel to and from the park and you will consume a day off of your park pass.)

The only time you will get wristbands at the park entrance is if you arrive after the start of the EMH. There are numerous distribution points in all the parks. Go to allearsnet.com for the listing. For the Studios we got our wristbands last June right at the entrance to the Rock 'N Roller Coaster area. There was no line and took about 1-2 minutes. The distribution area closest to the park entrance will always have the longest line.

You can get the wristbands anytime from two hours before EMH starts through anytime the park closes.
