ok, the trasiler for the haunted mansion, I dunno if anyone noticed, but RIGHT after the clip of the ballroom dancing, there's a ghost that smiles up at you & it's a PERFECT image of Walt Disney in his 40's. I don't know if it IS Walt, but it sure did look like him. check out the trailer on the net and pause it when you see the ghost. Tell me it isn't him!

...In our group of six, every one of us liked 'POC' better than 'Nemo'

I liked it alot better then nemo and already plan on seeing it twice whereas i had no plans on seeing nemo again after seeing it. I just asked my 5 year old and he likes POC better. I think it's cause of Mr Depp his performance was just too good

BTW, here's a pic I clipped for ya guys to see:

DH and I saw Pirates last night. The theater was packed! A good mix of male/female and all ages too. The little girl next to us jumped VERY high when the monkey skeleton jumped at the camera:) It was pretty violent-but hey they are pirates! Johnny Depp was wonderful as usual. When the pirates are walking under water-wow!

I think the Walt's ghost in the HM trailer may actually be the bust of Thurl Ravencost (sp?) that looks like him in the attraction. It looked like a singing bust. That preview makes it look worth seeing.

Just chiming in to say I haven't come out of a movie that excited as I did yesterday - BOTH times that I saw it. Yeah, I saw it twice yesterday, and I am going again this weekend.

I liked Nemo, I really did. But usually, once in the theater is enough for me until things come out on DVD. I really can't wait to see this a THIRD time in the theater. I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out on July 22.

I already have told quite a few people about this movie and a lot are gonig to see it. As for the two times I saw it, the first time was the first matinee of the day with my kids ages 6 and 7. The theater was full, bu not sold out at 11:50am. And I couldn't believe how many kids I saw there YOUNGER than mine. I almost asked the group in front of me if they were looking for Finding Nemo and got lost by mistake. But they stayed through the whole thing.

The second time was a 6:20pm showing and if it wasn't sold out, it was close. There were kids there too, from ages 8 and up I'd guess. There were also some older adults, a real mix of ages that I think this movie appeals to.

Just some demographics on myself...I'm 29, married with 2 kids, mostly stay at home mom, partly in direct sales.

It isn't him. :)

I noticed it in the trailer & it looks like the Thurl Ravenscroft bust (though there is a likeness to Walt) on the ride.

We felt the same way as some others... Liked "Nemo" a lot, but would not see it (in the theater) again.

Dying to see "POTC" again !!! Could not stop talking about it today at work !!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

... it sounds like they better have plenty of toy swords, guns, pirate ships, skull flag, etc.

and halloween costumes!

Ahhh..............moichendiesing!!

We saw POTC last night and it was a hoot! Good mixture of action and amusing moments. During the "scenes" from the ride a little extra cheers/applauds could be heard. I kinda like that idea, just hope a "Small World the Movie" doesn't get on anyones agenda!
I also thought HM with Murphy has a good chance to succeed.
I had a great experience on Wednesday 6/18 just before fireworks at MK. We went on POTC and had absolutely no one in sight (empty boats) for the entire ride. It was kind of special since we were anticipating the movie and all.

Reuters is predicting a $70-$75 take for the wed-sun period. The tell tale sign of it's longevity/success will ultimately be decided by the public. And yes Mr Scoop, it's one heck of a fun film. One of the first scenes that made me laugh was the one where the bumbling pop-eyed skinny pirate accidently stuck a fork in his eye and it started to roll around as he tried to get a visual fix on it(lol).

We went on opening day and there were lots of teenagers there and only a handful of younger kids including my own. We also saw a fair amount of grownups without kids and I'm putting my money on more of them showing up.

/fantasy node: ON

One little note on the Haunted Mansion trailer : When the knight brings the ax down near Eddie Murphy's head, pause the trailer. In the middle of the blade, I see what looks like what may be a "hidden mickey."

/leaving disney fantasy, returning to real life. :(

I just got back from the 7:00 showing of poc it was fantastic. The theater wasnt very full, lots of elderly people there but there usually is at cape theaters. I dont know if it was better than nemo or not, both were some of disneys best in years! I would definetly go to either film again. Johny depp who i had never heard of before this movie so captivating he truly stole the show, i was expecting that from orlando bloom but he was kinda just there though he did a good job. I could see where it deserved the pg-13 rating, some killing (they're pirates its bound to happen), the women dresses may be revealing to younger kids, but it wasnt as scarey as i had heard and i dont recall any bad language though there may have been. Overall a wonderful disney movie, cant wait for it to come out on dvd and am anticapating the soundtrack.

My 6 1/2 yo DS was itching to see this movie since we got off the ride at WDW in June! On Fri., I took him to the matinee to see it. Rainy day ... perfect movie viewing weather ... that's what I thought, and apparently most of the other families in my area b/c the 1:25 show was packed w/kids and adults alike. DS accompanied me, dressed in his pirate regalia from our visit to WDW -- pirate hat, head wrap, treasure bag, hand held telescoping thingy ... wanted to take his sword, but I said theatre wouldn't allow it in. We "argh, matey" and "avast!"ed our way to our seats.

DS & I loved the movie! He loved it more than Nemo. When we walked out of the theatre, he asked if we could get tix for the next PotC showing!!!! He was a little frightened of the skeletons and hid his eyes through a tiny bit of the movie. Now, I have to buy some beads to make the dangles that come off Capt. Jack Sparrow's hair to clip onto his head wrap. Thank heavens he's not asking to grow a beard and mustache!!!! lol!

During the preview for HM, he half-peeked out of his covered eyes, managed to see the ghost that resembled Walt and said real loud and excited (forgetting he was in the movies) "hey Mommy, that was Walt Disney's ghost!" People around us laughed and we heard a few "hey, yeah!"'s. I saw it, myself, and questioned it. I won't tell him it was someone else ... let him think old Walt popped in during filming! lol!

I think HM will be more frightening for the younger set. DS is particularly afraid of ghosts (won't visit the HM). I'll be seeing that by myself ... and I hope it's good!

**Wanting to add that both DS and I said we wouldn't see Nemo again at the theatre, but would see PotC again before it's released to video/dvd. Definitely planning on purchasing PotC over Nemo when they're out! **
