Since Yavn's notice about mules, I wanted to be sure that a couple of mine and JustMonkeyMe's characters did not get deleted. So, I just finished speaking with Disney by phone, and we went through all of the logins that were under the same email registration. Egad! I did not know that she had 30 characters!! Where was I when she created more than the 15 that I knew she did have? ROFL! Well, we went through all the login names and now JustMonkeyMe is down to just 6 characters. You cannot delete characters this way, but at least you can have them deactivated. It's too bad that I had to deactivate a few of her fun titled characters, but I would much rather do that than have VMK remove all of her characters because she had so many. Besides, 6 is a much more manageable number than 30! :rotfl:

Well, Imagine having been In VMK since Day 1. Although monkey seems to hacve been doing pretty good there. I was at about 45 but It is not hard to get that many in a Year and a Half. I made My first 2 on the first day out of BETA hoping they would get day 1 status. Then made several more at the park during our last visit for Black Mickey ears. (I have heard of people making 50 right there in VMK central) About 20 came from making mules to buy Spider Web Wall Web Dividers and reselling them. The rest were just made for words or to see what was new or try to work them through the ropes and at the end of the day they would come out with magic and 10K credits. not bad and I figured mini Savings accounts. When It was first anounced that they would crack down on Mules I Deleted 25 in a week long project. I have about 10 more that I plan to delete but they have about 100K combined on the candidates for deletion so I am waiting on the next holiday items for most of them. That will bring me down to between 12 -15 Characters among my Family including the main characters. Since my family does not go on often I manage all the account to be sure they continue to have items they want. It is easy to delete the Characters, but takes a lot of time to check them all to be sure they are cleared off. Ifeel the latest notice on "mules was Kinder gentler, with a better explaination. My remaining characters don't really fall into the mule category as described since the remaining characters Visit regularly and have their own stuff, they just don't get friends for the most part.

I have a quick question about this topic. I have about 7 or 8 characters total. they all use a different email addy. I don't play all of them all the time, I gave one to my daughter which is the one we made in park for the black ears, and the others I used to get credits for waterslide month and to do quests. It's not the 50 that some people have but are they all for lack of a better word traced back to me or are they considered seperate since they use their own email addy? I don't mind if they were deleted but I don't want mine and my daughters characters deleted. Any info on where I stand in the mule situation? I don't play them all daily, I do use 2 or 3 a few times a week to up their credits since they still have a few thousand. So any info on where I stand would be helpful. TIA!

Well, It is an interesting question. All mine used a diferent e-mail as well. As well I use many computers. They were not specific but it looked like they will for the most part base it on the e-mail account, and bulk creation. Speaking on the basis of technology in somewhat layman terms, When people visit web sites the hosting site receive a lot of info including your IP address and possibly the number specificly identifying your computer I think (anyone with real firm knowledge feel free to elaborate) So they could look at accounts created on specific addresses and or computers if they wished. It is dificult to say how far and how deep they will or would go to track down something that is not specificly a violation. As a note I would look for a wording change in the Terms of use, although they already reserve the right to delete accounts for whatever reason they wish.

So how do we have several characters under one email? I'd love to be able to do that!

I feel bad about deactivating a few of my DD's characters, as we both made friends with a couple of characters just so we could say something in VMK (these characters were never played). ;) I know she will be upset when she finds out, but I had to make a decision. If we didn't play the character, I had to get ride of it or they might get rid of characters that we do play. Oh, the choices we have to make as parents.

I see a lot of talk about them banning "your ip number". Most ip addresses for real folks like you and me are temporary and dynamic. They change regularly and come from a range of addresses from your interent provider. Given that, they aren't banning you by ip address. (An ip address looks like this 128.42.99.3).

I see other people say "they ban your whole computer". This seems more likely. To do so, they are most likely capturing and using your MAC (media access control ) address. This is the hardware address of your ethernet card or circuitry. It's been a few years but they look more like E6:87:00:N3.
(or is it 16 characters long - i don't remember.)

Someone talked about buying a new computer to get around a ban caused by sibling. A better alternative would be to reconfigure using a different ethernet card.

When you first create a character, you have a choice whether to chose adult or child. If you choose adult, you have to use a different email address to register each character. If you choose child, you can use the same email address over and over for each new character created. My DD used the same email address for each one of her characters. :)

This is incorrect - VMK does not ever see your MAC address - that is specific only to your computer and only your network administrator can see it (cable internet company would qualify there). No internet site can ever see your hardware MAC addresses. They are not broadcast.

Think of it as you would a phone. When you call someone, they see the number you called from (IP address) but they do not see the model number of the phone you are using (MAC address).

Ok after thinking about it I'll just delete the accounts we don't use. I will simply keep my daughter's and my own. Can I ask what number you called to fix your accounts? We used not only our ISP adresses but also aim and yahoo ones. I don't need them since I have finally gotten good enough at games to be able to make credits pretty quickly. I'm getting about 5k a day now which is fine with me I don't buy too much of anything anyway so I don't need a lot. TIA!
