Maybe he can give me an "English" translation of what they MRI results are. The fact that there is no tear is written, plain and clear, so I do know that piece of good news. They just didn't write what they did find in a language that I could understand...I swear, they do that on purpose!! :badpc: Her knee still hurts, but not as bad. Maybe they will let her lose the crutches and just keep the leg immobilizer on. :confused3 The MRI results did say that "radiographs would be useful........" right next to their findings so I imagine we'll need more exrays done today as well. Can we say "Hurry up and wait.............." :rolleyes1

That's the way it always is.
(We're pretty sure you have something major wrong with you, BUT its gonna take 3 months before we know for sure. )

Sometimes an MRI will not show what the problem is. I have heard of patients going to have tears removed and it was an ACL instead or vice versa. Have also heard of a clear MRI and the doc went in for explatoratory and found something wrong.

My MRI only said "suspected" with all the mumbo jumbo. I had to read it twice to find all that.

Good luck!! Sorry her knee still hurts :(

:grouphug: for your daughter. I hope you get a clearer understanding today of what the problem is, and hopefully it won't be long before she is feeling much better!! :goodvibes

Well, hopefully all that's there is some swelling & bruising. The pain can last a long time. I injured my knee last summer. My knee was the size of a small tree trunk, purple and squishy. :crazy2: Every doctor I saw thought surely I had torn my ACL. It looked and felt just awful. The MRI said everything was intact(!) so they started me on physical therapy. Sure enough, the knee healed and after 2 months of PT it was good as new.

Good luck! I hope it's something very minor and treatable. :wizard:

I hope the results are good and that it's nothing major.

My MRI showed a completely severed ACL, a torn MCL, and a torn miniscus; after 2 months of PT (NO surgery) it was as good as new.

I KNEW I had torn it even before I hit the ground; I felt and heard it "pop." When the ski patrol asked if I could get up, I said "No, I tore my ACL. Get the stretcher." :rotfl:

Hope your DD is feeling better soon....
We are going through this with our DD right now.....she slipped off a stair of the school bus over 2 weeks ago, and whacked her elbow on one of the stairs. No fracture, just a bad bone bruise, which the ortho Dr said sometimes takes a month or more to feel better.

Froglady......I had the same injury, PT for me also, NO surgery if I can help it. I still do some of the exercises to keep the other ligaments strong.

We're back......with good news!! The 'marrow edema' is a fancy way of saying water in the bone marrow. The doctor said the body will make water to help protect an injured area....in Jess' case, in all collected on the knee. He took the immobilizer away from her, kept the crutches and wants her to start physical therapy. She isn't allowed to run or jump but can dance in her upcoming play. She is to ice down the knee as soon as we get home afterwards. We need to go back again in 2 weeks.

I liked the doctor's description of what she did: "She tried to break her leg but didn't quite make it". :lmao: She really had one heck of a sprain!

I am glad that it turned out to be nothing too serious. I like the doctor's description too!
