In Coventry we get 5 free sessions a week at preschool once the child is 3 and, as we are busy on a Tuesday afternoon (she does afternoons) we've decided to put her in all day on a Wednesday.

I've just dropped her off with her lunchbox and come home and had a little cry :upsidedow . I have been looking forward to having some time to myself (when DS is sleeping) and some time with just him but now it is here I miss her already! She has also moved up to the 'big room' with the older children so she was a bit upset this morning anyway.

I know you have all been there! :flower: I'll ring at lunchtime as she might be a bit upset when some of the kids are picked up though she understands (i think) that she is there all day.

Thanks for listening :goodvibes I feel better already. Off for a cuppa before baby wakes up again (oops too late!)

Awww I know how you are feeling :(

AAwwh, I'm sure she will be fine and enjoy being a big girl.

I'm sure she'll be fine. I think children are more resilient and adaptable to change than us parents in alot of ways.

absolutely true, if you've ever done parent duty at play school you'll know the children that cry their head off when mummy leaves just buckle down and get on with it as soon as the parent goes.

I know just how you feel. Suffice to say, my son is now at the age where I still get upset at having to leave him and he barely gives me a second glance as he runs off to play with his friends ;)

Its always us parents that feel it more than them. Within 10 minutes they've forgotten all about any trauma, enjoy the special time you have with baby,

Better that Joh, than him breaking your heart with his crying each time you go

Aw! Are we all soppy or what!! I remeber my now 15 yr old would literally rip the buttons off my coat trying to stay with me from the aged of 2 1/2 when he went to preschool right up to his 7th brithday when he went to the juniors. It was heartbreaking and embarrasing at the same time. But I knew that once behind the door he was fine and hardly bothered with his old mum! The little s*d!!

Awww. Hope she has had a good day. As the others have said we parents feel it far more than the children do. I bet she comes home with a lovely painting for you (and if she's anything like my kids her clothes covered in paint) :flower:

I'm sure theres a lot of us that know how your feeling and most of us felt the same when our little ones first started pre school/school.

Hopefully it won't be long until you start to enjoy the quite, like me. :rotfl:

She was, of course fine. I rang at lunchtime as I thought that might be the time when she got upset but they told me she was fine and busy eating. She says she had a fun, made a new friend and can't wait for next Wednesday :flower:

The only upset was when she couldn't find her paintings to bring home. Her teacher tried to calm her by saying that they were drying (sometimes they forget that Molly will remember what they tell her and will ask again tomorrow!)

I got nothing useful done but had a lovely time with the baby! I am looking forward to next Wednesday too!

Thanks for your messages - I can't believe 6 hours went so quick!

My DD started pre-school nursery this week too.
She's already been at private nursery while I'm at work but I wasn't sure how she'd settle somewhere new but she's taken it all in her stride , same as Molly. I think it's just hard letting go sometimes being a Mum ,My friend who's little girl started today was visibly upset and her little girl just ran off to play !
