How does the DDP work with an infant? If we do the DDP we pay for 2 adults and our DD4 but our DS1 is not included. Does he get to eat for free or do we have to just order for him from the menu as we go? And is there a difference in how infants are treated in menu restaurants versus buffets?

Hi! We just got back from our trip to WDW with our 18 month old son, Alex. We were on the DDP for the first time.

With the infant, you do not pay for them to be on the DDP. So, they do not get to order anything at the resturants on the DDP. However, they may eat food items off of your plate and you can order anything off the menu for them and pay for it seperately. One exception to this rule was at buffets. At buffets you can go get your infant their own plate of food. You can also order them a drink and it's all included with your DDP credits.

We found that things just went better when we were at buffets with our son. We could try him out on different foods and it kept him busy and there were characters at all of them, so we had a really good time at those. Of course, the food was so much better at the regular resturants. But DS was not too interested in eating what we ordered...especially at Coral Reef.

Overall, eating at the resturants with the 18 month old went pretty well.

Have fun.

Eric
