DDP with a "split" reservation?

Hi everyone!

I haven't been able to figure out an answer to this, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to point me in the right direction. My parents and I are going to Disney, staying in SSR, for a ten day trip in November. My brother and his girlfriend are joining us for the first three days, then leaving. Then, I have a friend coming for the final weekend. All together, there will be six of us staying in the room, and we all have Park Hopper tickets for each day each of us will be there.

We calculated that it would be less expensive to buy the DDP for all six of us for all ten days than to pay out of pocket, even though our arrivals and departures are staggered. Will Disney let us do that? Our travel agent says no, but I don't see why we couldn't.

Thanks so much!

I believe your TA is correct. I think everyone staggering their stays would need separate rooms/res.
The DDP is an all or nothing with guests on the same res. (Meanng everyone in the party has the same ticket type, dining plan, and for the same length of stay.)
I don't know how it works for DVC members, if you are booked as a DVC member.

If your brother and his GF will be there when you check in, you could buy the plan for five people for 10 days. Then when your friend comes, you would still have dining credits for her to use. Your room ID would indicate 5 adults on the first day and it would remain that way for the entire 10 days.

Now if you only want 5 adults for 3 nights (your brother's stay), then you will have to check out of the villa and check back in on a separate reservation. And there is no guarantee that you will get the same villa. Then you'd have to do it all again for your friend's stay.

But if you only show up with 5 adults on the first day, you won't be able to purchase the dining plan for 6 adults.

Thanks, guys!

That seems a little complicated, so I guess we'll just stick with paying OOP. Oh well! :) Looking forward to it anyway!
