Hi
Leaving under a week ;)still debating on DDP or TIW need your feedback from the 2 experiences ..
It will be me and DH
we like to eat at table restaurants at dinner time ( exemple Ohanna ..Liberty tree tavern ..Coral reef ...
at lunch we eat counter service is there really some saving in doing TIW ??
how much is now DDP per personn per day ?? ( january )
We are passholder so we could buy the TIW but if I read correctly there is not alot of counter services that give you discount right ???
so that said is it still worth it ??( TIW)
we will be in WDW for 11 days ..
I'm so lost in what to do and have only a few days to decide ( you have to call 48 hrs prior to arrival for DDP ) ..

Depending on how you use the credits, the Disney dining plan can save you as much as 15-20%, or you could even lost 10% or more.
TiW, after paying for the card, will save you 20% off TS, but generally does not discount most CS. (there is some participating CS)

For *most* people, TiW is a much better deal. It gives you much more freedom to eat what you want, and get a discount.

The ddp is approximately $51 per adut, per night.
Let me give an illustration of why the TiW can be significantly better:
Let's assume you do CS lunch, with a beverage, but choose to skip dessert.
Ddp -- use 1 CS credit. TiW- pay full price, for the CS meal -- about $13.
Dinner at Via Napoli. You decide you want an appetizer ($10, not covered by the ddp). You get the pizza as your entree ($18). You do get dessert this time ($7). And you decide to have a glass of wine ($8, not covered by the ddp).
If on the ddp, you use your TS credit, plus you are oop about $17.
On the TiW, total is $43, minus 20%. So about $34 on the TiW card.

So total spending for the day -- on the ddp, the price of the plan ($51) + oop extras ($18), plus tip, total of $69 plus tip.
On the TiW, $13cs plus $34ts plus tip= $47 plus tip.
I forgot to get a mid-day snack, which would make it $69 versus $50.

So in this example, TiW is $19 cheaper, per adult, for 1 night.

There are circumstances where the ddp would save you more:
You are staying 11 nights?
The ddp is better IF:
You want a dessert with ALL CS meals and TS meals. AND
You plan on 11 1-credit dinners. (signature dinners are a good value under TiW, bad value under ddp). AND
You very very rarely will want an appetizer, AND
All your TS meals (entree, beverage, dessert) will always run over $35,
AND, you do not plan on alcohol.

Under those narrow circumstances, ddp may be better. Break any of those rules (have a few cheaper dinners, have some expensive signature dinners, skip some desserts, order some appetizers, have a few glasses of wine), and TiW is a much better deal.

Unless something has changed recently, I believe the DDP must be added at least 72 hours prior.:confused3
