DDP if one of the members of your party is leaving early

So I just booked my trip for Disney in the spring and looking at the cost for the package with DDP it was essentially coming out the same as what I was estimating for food to begin with, a little more but that was because I was taking off places I wanted to eat at to save some money. I decided to add the DDP assuming that the adults in the party could use my husbands TS credits as he will only be there for one day (I wanted both BOG and 'Ohana's - which are 2 TS each). Anyway, my question is will this actually work, can the adults (well and child that is billed as an adult) use these TS credits this way or am I going to be in for a shock at 'Ohana's when I go to pay and find out it's going to be a cash meal after all... I really don't care one way or another but I don't wan to spend the money on a dining plan that we can't use.

Dining credits are pooled by reservation so you will be fine.

One thing to note, if you are purchasing a package, you must purchase DDP and park tickets for everyone for length of stay. If your husband is only there one day you will still need to purchase a park ticket for the same number of days as the rest of the guests on the reservation.

You may wish to price out a room only reservation, park tickets based on how many days each person plans to go to the parks and paying for food out of pocket.

Each person is different but we find paying for food out of pocket to be the better option for our family.

So I had priced out the room only, tickets (granted rack rate) and then factored in the dining we would be paying for in my spreadsheet... And called to change the two hopefully nearby rooms at Coronado to a two bedroom at Saratoga Springs as I had decided that I did in fact want to enjoy my vacation and have some space... Those were the numbers I was using when I asked them to change the initial booking since I had called to make the first one to begin with. I'm honestly still scratching my head at how the cost is comparable considering we are eating tickets but it is, the CM also stated that the unused tickets could be banked for later but I'm still unclear on that and frankly not counting on it. It may be whatever package they have right now for when we are going it could also be that I have expense tastes

Thank you for confirming that they are pooled together, I'm now much less concerned about this as I will easily use them and now not feel guilty when I order steak.

If the ticket is not used, it will retain value as a credit towards a future ticket. If one day (or more) is used, the ticket will expire with no credit value.

That makes more since, and maybe the CM wasn't understanding that he was going to use a day.
