HI, I hope someone can help. This year we are thinking of doing DDP for the first time, another first is that my DSIL and DBIL may be coming with us. Do they add the credits to the room, each individual key to the world or to the lead party. I know my DSIL won't bother to count how many credits we've used and I don't want to sound mean but I don't want them to use up some of our credits too. SO how does it work?

Currently all credits can be accessed from all cards so you would have to request that everyone "count their credits". I have not travellled withother adults on the plan staying in my room, but what I have my DS do is bring me his reciepts so I can "subtract the credits" I used some line like I want to make sure you get everything your entitled to so I am keeping track so you don't lose any credits.

On our last trip, we had 3 rooms for the 3 families traveling together and 3 different reservation numbers. The dining credits were assigned separately to each room/reservation number. I set up the trip but we were still given 3 reservation numbers. Make sure you have different reservation numbers for each family.

I forgot to add in my OP that we would be having 2 seperate rooms, would we automatically be given 2 reservation numbers (I would be booking both rooms) or would I need to ask for seperate numbers.

In that case, your credits would be on your room and theirs would be on their room.

Sorry, don't know for sure. Call for reservations instead of booking on line and then you can ask for different ressie #'s and specifically ask about dining credits. This will give you some peace of mind. I use a DU travel agent and she handles all of this for me. Have a magical vacation!!

The credits will be assigned by room. As long as they are in their own room, they will not have access to your dining credits. Keeping track of their own credits is up to them. :)

Now, if you mix up groups to eat - say you go out with DSIL alone and use your card to pay.... her meal will come out of your credits. If everyone uses their own card to pay, nothing will get mixed up. (Well, not *everyone* but one person from each room pays for everyone in their own room. You pay for your family, DBIL pays for his...... Let the server know up front that you need separate checks.)

Oh, now I see. If you have separate rooms all of their dining credits will be on their cards and yours will be on your own as well. When you are seated you should let the server know how your parties are divided before s/he takes the order so that the checks are split up correctly. We did this in December 2006 all TS were party of 9 --my 4, sister and her kids 3 and my parents 2. We just mentioned we were on the DDP to the server and then told how the rooms were split up.
