Have just been reliably informed that DDP 2008 will not include gratuities and the starter of the table service meal. What does everyone think?

It depends upon what you mean by "reliably informed." This has been discussed and talked about on these boards extensively. If you are going by the same information we are - that is, that Disney worked with the union to allow them to remove the tips and are thinking of doing it, then you may want to check out some of those threads. Basic answer - for many people it depends upon what they do with the price. If they keep the price the same and remove tips, that's a big price increase and some, but not all, will not get it.

But if you have some new information - such has talking with somebody who has seen the 2008 brochure or is in a position to know a final decision has been made, do speak up.

This is the first I've heard about the appetizer being deleted from the DDP. I wonder if it will be deleted outright or replaced with a soup/salad choice or maybe an appetizer sampler for the table.

It sounds like the DDP will be less attractive next year.

I have just read on another forum that this news has just been confirmed.

Too bad -- I will likely forego DDP after this year. I will use DDE for 2 or 3 TS's and go back to using CS for most of the meals. In a way, it might be a welcome relief. DDP can get all-consuming (in more ways than one!!!!)

If they do remove both of those items then I will not be using it in the future and probably going back to mostly all CS meals

I find it very interesting that this is the OP first post.:rolleyes1
