Please excuse me if this has been asked before. Many of the restuarants have a "kids pick" which includes app/entree/dessert from a choice of two items each for 7.49. They also have several other entrees priced at 7.49 but they do not include an app or dessert. They do not have other apps and desserts listed for the kids other than what is in the "kids pick". If dining with DDP, what if the child doesn't choose "the kids pick" but perfers another child's entree? Are they entitled to get the dessert and/or app listed in the "kids pick" since there is none other listed on the menu? Or can they get one from the adult menu? :confused3 I know my DD can't eat that much, but since we'll be getting an app and dessert, she'll want one too. And I don't know if she'll always just want to choose between the two entree choices on the "kids pick"

All the items come with appy and dessert - for the non kids picks it is listed with the description of the food. I think one is salad appy. The deserts are yogurt, parfait, and apples. Some guests have reported being able to get any of the 5 appys or any of the 5 desserts, regardless of what entree they have ordered if they ask the server. Other guests have said that the 3 set choices were not interchangeable. If she wants one of the kid's pick desserts but not a kids pick entree you'll have to ask if she's able to get that. If your child wants an "adult" dessert you will have to pay extra for that.

Thanks, I guess I didn't read the descriptions well. The children's menu needs to be like the adults. THE CHILD picks the app, THE CHILD picks the entree, and THE CHILD picks the dessert. Maybe my kid is just picky, but there is no way she'll want a salad for an app. Soup, yes, but that doesn't mean she'll want the kid's pick entree. I mean, what if we wanted a certain app. but that app came with an entree we didn't liked? Or what if we wanted a filet and the app and dessert that came with it we hated? Hopefully it won't come to that, I think Disney knows better than to the same with the adults.

My understanding, after talking to someone at the WDW executive offices last week, is this: If your child orders one of the featured meals (the three on Mickey-shaped plates), you can interchange the apps and desserts. I don't think that extends to swapping out for the "kids pick" apps and desserts. But don't quote me on that. <g>

Indeed, and unless you get it in writing from the WDW executive office, don't expect every restaurant to comply with that.

Agreed. For me, this particular point is not something worth pursuing, so I didn't ask for anything in writing.
