This is our first family trip and first with the DDP. I'm curious how this works especially with the Magic Bands. We have 6 nights and 2 adults, 3 kids. I assume all our MB's are linked and we all have access to the "credits"? If we order at a QS do we all have to be there or can I just order for all of us and they will scan my band (and the credits will come off??). Also, are the credits marked as 12 TS (adults), 18 TS (kids), 12 QS (adults), 18 QS (kids), etc?? Do they "enforce" the kids menu for QS meals (ie will they ask to see all members of my party) - I've heard the kids chicken nuggets look / taste like mystery meat but the adult version is so much better quality. Finally, if we do BOG for lunch for all 5 of us, can we only order 4 meals (and have the kids share)?

They'll know what you and your party have when they scan your band. They will not have to physically see members of your party. And yes you can order for everyone who is on the same room reservation. If you have persons in your party on different room reservations, you will need a band from their room, too.

Just to note, it's Disney's written rule that children age 3-9 should order from the children's menu, unless there is no children's menu. Therefore the Restaurant Board has a policy of no discussion permitted regarding using the children's credits, TS or CS, any other way.

Thanks, I didn't know if they would have to scan each MB. But, and I hope this isn't against the policy as it's really just a question to avoid confusion, I can see that there may be times where I may order an adult chicken nuggets and a kids burger - my child would eat the nuggets and I would eat the burger. Depending on the size and what else we've eaten, my 4 & 6 yo DD's may even split the nuggets. Also, there may be times where DH and I will split our adult meals... With the splitting and switching, do I have to keep track of what we use (kids vs adults) or does the MB have x number of kids meals, x number of adult meals?? We are staying for 6 days - we have 2 2TS credit meals and 2 single credit meals planned. One day we will actually use 3 TS credits so I really need to get the most value out of my QS meals and can see a lot of days where we split and probably a day of using our snacks to eat around Epcot (oh the sacrifice ;) ). I just want to know what to expect so I use my credits wisely!!! Thanks!

Per the board policy, they're not going to discuss whether or not you will be able to use credits for which you paid a child's price to purchase adult meals. It does appear this is what you're asking.

No I'm really not. I get it, kids meals are for kids menu items, you can't use them to order adult meals, policy, yes... But my question was more about tracking the credits. If the adults share adult meals and kids share kids meals or if I eat snacks as my meals but DH eats a "meal", is this all tracked??

For example... We all have a TS breakfast and use 2 adult credits and 3 kids credits - then me, DH, and DD1 have "snacks" for lunch but DD2 & DS split a QS meal. Finally, for dinner DH and I split a QS meal then DD1 & DD2 split a QS dinner and DS has his own... Over the course of a day we used 2 adult and 3 kids TS credits, 1 adult QS and 4 kid QS. Do I have to track our daily usage or is it tracked on my MB? I think I've read where it's printed on your receipt that you have X adult TS meals, X adult QS meals, X kids TS meals... etc... I don't want to walk up to a QS meal on our last day and find either we have no QS credits left or double of what I thought! Tracking... that's what I'm asking about....

If I remember correctly, the receipt just said how many meals were left and how many you have used...and didn't seperate kids from adults. But, a quick run to the resort front desk gave is the correct quantities of each.

Your remaining entitlements are printed at the bottom of your receipt. Just keep your last receipt and you'll be fine. If you forget it, GR or a QS location can scan your band really quick and tell you what's left.

When you get to the cash and scan your MB the cashier will be able to see that you have 2 adults/3 kids so you would only be able to purchase 2 adult meals and 3 kids meals at a time on the dining plan. You can purchase less if you wish to share but not more. Have a great trip.:)

Thanks! It would be a nightmare to track that with all the different appetites in our family. Plus with 2 2 credit meals, I have a feeling we'll be sharing some meals (and snack credits) to stretch our value to the max!
