They will give you a pamplet when you check in with the info on the DDP. It will not contain spefics on what snacks are included but generalities.

I don't recommend waiting till you arrive to make ressies. Go on Allears menus and check out the menus, also the site that has the dining plan restaurants listed . Many of the ddp restaurants are booked months in advance . Feel free to ask any questions, that;s what we Dissers are hear for !!

Basically, any single-serving size item under $4.00 is a snack on DDP.

We find it helpful to step over to concierge desk after checking in to request a printout of our ADR's. Check it against your itenerary for mistakes so no surprises. Disney Dine will not e-mail or fax dining itenerarys,(sp) you just have to hope they get it right. They will run through your list and confirm on the phone, though.

Most all the restaurants are on the plan. You can verify as making res. and this site as well as Allears has the list as well as menus.

This link will give you a list of the majority of snacks covered on the plan...You are at your resort and parks look for the small symbol next to the item/price for the dining plan...The symbol is a small box in purple and while and it will have a D/S on it to indicate it is a snack on the plan...But this link should help a lot for now...

This link gives you a list of all restaurants on the plan...There are only a few that are not (mostly in Downtown Disney)...Use this list to make your ADR as soon as you can...You can book 180+10 and you should.

We recently found that making ADRs before leaving is a must. Since my DD was playing in a volleyball tourney at WDW we weren't sure when to make ressies since we didn't know when she would be playing or be done. We had problems getting ADRs after arriving. We couldn't get into any of the Epcot countries, Liberty Tree Tavern, we ended up eating at either 3:30 or 10 pm.
Also not sure I would DDP again, the TS meals were subpar, overpriced and the wait staff was also not up to standard, not checking back, refilling drinks etc. When it was time to let us know the tip was not included they were there and suddenly helpful!
The best meals we had were at the Outback Steakhouse and House of Blues. Cash meals, where the wait staff was consistently friendly, refilling drinks and checking back. They earned and deserved their tips!
On the other hand the CS meals were plentiful and yummy!

I respect your view...However, why would you state TS meals are overpriced when you are not paying for them OOP???

We don't care what the bill comes to when we have the dining plan...That is the beauty of the plan...We get what we want and we eat where we want and there is no worry about the price...Prehapes you did not select the best Disney has to offer or may have experienced not the best service...I am sorry for you and your family if you did not have a great experience...

This is one family that has been on the plan 6 trips in a row....Yes, we did have a few not great meals...But we have had tons of fun, wonderful, yummy meals on property and on the plan...We love the plan because you get a large CS meal (as you stated), a great snack (it is amazing what you can get if you choose wisely), and we have had some terrific fun at character meals and many other TS places....It is a lot of food for a small amount if you average what you would spend OOP over the course of the trip...And having a TS forces you to sit down and relax instead of running yourself to death...We see our TS time as a time to take a break and get ready for the day or round two in the parks...And for the most part we have always had good service, although some were better than others...

We think the plan is a great investment for your trip but that is just our opinion ;)

The first priority is to be sure you have ADRs made for your trip because you will not be happy when you get there if not. Most restaurants are already booked up and if you don't get something, you'll be turned away. :(

As for snacks, you'll be pleasantly surprised at what is included - really most everything is. It's also very clearly marked on the signage if it is covered with a snack credit. That part I wouldn't worry about...here is a picture of what the little purple emblems look like (to the right of the prices on the signs):
