DDP and appetizer for TS

In reading other threads, I noticed others saying an appetizer is no longer included as part of a TS meal? Is this correct? If so, I am incredibly disappointed right now and will be rethinking the DDP.

What a let-down on something we were looking so forward to.

On the regular plan you do NOT get an appetizer but on the deluxe plan you do.

ETA...that goes for TS and CS meals.

What a let-down on something we were looking so forward to.

Appetizers and gratuities were part of the basic dining plan during the first year or so, back around late 2005-2007, I believe. It's been about 3 years since the plan changed, and appetizers were only included on the deluxe plan. Gratuities are still the responsibility of the guests at the end of every meal, dining plan or no dining plan.

Appetizers and gratuities have been gone since the end of 2007

Regular dining plan - no appetizer for guests 10 and over at TS since 2008.

Deluxe dining plan - appetizer included at TS for all.

Appetizers are not included with CS meals no matter what plan you are on. They are also not included with breakfast, whether it's a TS or a CS breakfast.

If you mean a supervisor at WDW-DINE, they don't have any idea about the dining plan allotments and I wouldn't anticipate correct information on anything but restaurant reservations from that source.

No, we spoke with a reservation booking agent and we were both told that appetizers were included.

(I've never spoken with dining. I made our reservations online because we were still deciding and discussing...)

We called back yesterday and we were told that appetizers were included again. I brought the brochure to their attention and we were told "Oh, they have NO PROBLEM substituting appetizers for desserts." I had already spoken with another friend that went on this plan and inquired about substituting appetizers for desserts and she was told that it could not be done. (No harm, no foul, she just asked out of curiousity.)

At this point, my husband asked to speak with a supervisor. And the supervisor told us that appetizers were included. When DH brought the brochure to their attention, we were told again that we would have no issues getting substitutions.

Misinformation is being given. It will work out in my case. But it's a pain.

Good grief. Talk about a bunch of wrong information! It is kind of sad.

Appetizers are not included. And from what I have heard here, they will NOT let you substitute and appetizer for a dessert. There was just a thread the other day, and may have asked and been denied.

Substituting appetizers off the menu for your dessert is definitely not allowed for any reason.

Disney phone agents, whether reservations or dining, are wrong a lot. They just are. Best way to be prepared is to do your own research.

Sounds like my cable company But like my cable company, Disney call centers are big and this is just a job for many of them and some work on commission. Combine all this, and they are either not trained enough, think the wrong thing, or will say what they need to to make that $$
