DDP - 3 adults, 1 child - 1 adult is a light eater! Help!

We are planning on going in December for a few days before Christmas. It will be me, DH, DD (7) and her godmother (44). The godmother would like to NOT get the DDP because she is a tiny thing that doesn't eat much, but we want the DDP because then everything is paid for and we will eat it!

Any suggestions?

As you know, everyone on the reservation for the must be on the plan. The only suggestion would be to book a separate room for the godmother. Your family could be in one studio, all on the Dining Plan, and the godmother could have her own studio and not be on the dining plan.

It is my understanding that everyone on your reservation must purchase the DDP for the entire length of stay.

Here's a thought -- You could purchase a shopping and dining gift card thourgh WDW merchandising and load it with enought $ to cover your meals. This way you wouldn't have to purchase the DDP and your daughter's Godmother could eat as much or little as she wanted.

Another option -- If you have an AP, consider purchasing the DDE. You get 20% off food and beverage at most sit-down restaurants for up to 10 people in your party.

Could this be used anywhere in WDW? That would be a great thing to do for my kids gifts. This way they start the trip with an exact amount and know how much they have! How dod I find out more about this!!!!? Thanks

We did the DDP at Thanksgiving. We ate good and ate way too much. We're going again in June and I told my husband what it would cost to do the DDP again. He was surprised that it cost that much (we used a Disney VISA rewards card to pay for most of the plan in Nov). So we decided to get the DDE again (we had it once before) and not do the DDP. We have cut the number of ADRs down to less than half of what we had.

The Shopping and Dining Gift Cards are available for purchase at merchandise locations and food and beverage locations throughout WDW and can also be obtained by calling WDW Merchandising at (407) 363-6200. If ordering by phone, there is a $6.95 shipping and handling fee. It can be used at select WDW locations.

I took my 12 year old niece last summer and it killed me to pay $38 per night for her because she eats like a bird. This was her first trip and we did character dinners almost everyday, so it was worth it financially. If I took her again I think I would not do the plan and do counter service.
