We have used the DDE card the past couple of years and it was a great deal (for us). Looking over the options for this year and it looks like some things have changed. Is it still a great deal or has it been watered down/not worth it?

I just used it on a 9 day trip. I didn't notice any change in the benefits. Adding the tip in automatically, while it may be a little annoying, doesn't add any cost because you have to tip anyway. One thing, they didn't accept it on mothers day. Im not sure if that is new or not but it made sense.

we just used ours too......they didnt accept it at Chef Mickeys on Mothers day but we used it for the rest of our trip.......inside our food court and sit down restaurants and even at Pizzafari in AK....we saved quite a bit as usual.....because of the automatic gratuity, 18 %, it was still a good deal....we always tip above that anyways.....so it didnt make a big deal out of it....

We bought ours for the first time last month and it paid for itself by the end of the second day. We normally tip 20-25% so we save even more with the DDE and its automatic 18% tip.

IIRC the holiday rule has been around since day one of the DDE. From allears: Certain restrictions apply during holidays and special events, please check with the restaurant when you make your reservation. Blackout dates include major holidays: Mother's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
