Which is better with an AP? To buy the DDP, along with a 1 day ticket or just go with the DDE card?

I love to eat on the DDP because I don't worry about price and splurge a bit but that was the old plan.

Now I can't help to wonder if using the DDE, sharing, not having desserts would be less expensive.

What is your input?

You may not have to buy the one day ticket - when you call, check on a room/dining package for AP holders.

Depending on how and where you plan to eat, you could save by using DDE.

I was going to post a similiar question. I saw a nice brochure type summary that listed various restaurant discounts for AP, DVC and DDE? I have been looking the last day and cannot find it. Does anyone know where the link is? I thought I had found it on one of the boards.

We did DDP for a week then a few months later used DDE and paid OOP for everything. That was in the days when DDP included appetizers and gratuity for TS locations. It was also in the day when the kids were mostly willing to eat the kid options before the kid menus became largely homogenized... That year, equal length trips, we were within $2 for the week. This figure was "all inclusive" of all extras and alcohol and gratuities where paid and groceries for snacks and in-room oatmeal we had while on and not on DDP.
Now that DS is 10, we were thinking DDP would be better deal - but then they changed the kids menus and DD (7) usually wants to order an adult meal. Then they deleted the appetizer and gratuity for DDP. Of course, the cost of paying OOP has also gone up. We did our family dining analysis by selecting the restaurants we'd eat at if we were paying OOP then adding up the expected costs from posted menus - then compared that with the true cost of DDP with the appetizers when we'd want them and tips added. We're better off by far with DDE unless we get "free dining." Do keep in mind, however, that I'm an expert with no-cook or hotpot only meals and am the guru of satisfying waist-pack snacks - so we don't eat TS and CS and snack anyway. Have fun with your analysis - we did. (but do have a snack available - all that menu browsing can make your mouth water...)
