I faxed my request to DDE last Thursday and I received my letter in the mail today. My membership will be extended util 6/30/2005 and I am advised the cards will be mailed in 2 - 3 weeks. The letter is good until 7/1/05 in case I want to use it before my cards come.

I was impressed with how fast my request was processed. Now I can't wait until my first trip in July.

Good. I think you will like the DDE membership. :)
Now, about the 2 - 3 weeks.
:scratchin
Unless something has changed, don't hold them to that. It USE to be that way. But now....

Well, my cards still aren't here and I ordered them at the end of the big rush in March. March 23 to be exact. My credit card was charged in mid-April and my letter expires on May 31...but no cards yet. I don't go for 29 days, so hopefully my DDE cards will beat my DME tags here!!!!

My situation is just like goofy4tink. Our card was charged on April 21 (we ordered on March 28) and still no cards. We are leaving on May 31 so they need to come soon! Our validation letter expires at the end of May.

Our state does have a law that says mail order items must arrive within 30 days of your card being charged. I am very frustrated by this whole thing and I think asking paying customers to go pick up a piece of paper at Epcot is terrible. We don't plan on going to Epcot until several days after arriving. Why, when they have had my $50 for a month already, should I be driving all over to pick the paper up just to use this discount???? That is terrible customer service!!

I hope that are straightening out this whole mess and everyone who orders them now receives better service.

I would call now and ask for an updated letter be mailed to you so that you don't have to go to Epcot. You only have to go to Epcot if there isn't enough mailing time for the letter.

We just bought DDE. We had already arrived in Orlando and had to wait until we bought the annual passes. We were told the letter would be at Epcot, went there specifically, but the letter was not there. Since it was after hours, Epcot guest relations could not do anything. The next day at MK, we asked at there Guest Relations and they got a letter faxed to us, which then worked fine.

All this freakin out for nothing, just got the verification letter from DDE today. Sent the fax on Tuesday...that was pretty quick!

We leave this evening for WDW. Dh ordered the DDE by phone this morning. Ordering only took a few painless minutes. Our letter will be waiting at Epcot's Guest Relations Office tomorrow morning.

I called DDE Thursday at 9:00am with my AP confirmation number. The letter was faxed to me within 15 minutes. That is service!

Thank you, DebbieB, for the info about asking for a mailed letter. I didn't realize I could do that. I thought everyone had to go to Epcot. It sounds like some people are getting a letter faxed to them. Maybe that is an option for me. I guess I don't understand why an e-mailed PDF wouldn't be okay as well. Seems like that would take fewer resources than faxing or mailing.

Okay, I'm done venting. Ten more days to WDW. Can't wait!

The e-mails they were doing originally were in word doc form, so they could be altered. I don't know how much more is involved in creating a pdf document but I have the feeling they are not that technologically advanced.

Catsdad, were you able to order your DDE with an AP confirmation # or was it your AP voucher #?

Confirmation #. I ordered the pass online at 8:45am. Called DDE at 9:00am, and had the faxed letter by 9:15am. I don't know if they do this all the time ... I called on Thurs with a Sat arrival. Since I would not activate the AP until Sat, and DDE is closed over the weekend, I would have lost out on a weekend's use of DDE had they made me activate the AP first. I saved $12 on our first meal.

Does the DDE membership begin when you purchase or when it is first used? I am not going until December but with the length of time required to receive the membership card, I have been reading about I am thinking I should order the membership now. However, I don't want to waste six months of membership before I go to WDW. We sometimes go more then once per year as Florida residences.

They can FAX it to you? That would be great, because we weren't planingn to go to Epcot on the first day, having ps at MK. It would work out real good if we can just get it sent at home.
