DDE Card....when should I order it?

I was wondering when should I order the DDE card? We are going May 20 - 25 and I have read that they are behind on shipping cards out. Just wondering what I should do!! :flower:
 
It is taking anywhere from 4-6 weeks to 6-8 weeks to get them. I ordered mine exactly at the 8 week mark just to be on the safe side. However, they do send out an e-mail confirmation that is being accepted at the restaurants in case you don't receive the card on time.

I will be buying my AP pass when we arrive there...I might buy it online now but I hear that you can't buy the DDE without the actual pass number...how will that work if I can't get a pass until I get there?

I bought my APs via phone and am anticipating a voucher in the mail. I called DDE the next day to order the DDE card and they accepted my confirmation # instead of the voucher, although the CM stated they weren't supposed to. They sent an email with a letter that I could bring to the restaurants in case my card didn't come in. It states that my membership is valid through next May, although I'll be activating my AP sooner than this may, which will make it expire earlier than that. In any case, I figure that the amount of money I will save with the DDE will more than cover the cost of joining!!!! :earboy2: I'm especially excited to save 20% on booze! :drinking1
 

For our March trip I waite until March 1 to order because I wanted the expiration date to be in April. That is exactly what i got...April 30, 2006 expiration
 
i ordered ours on 2/14 and still have not received it. granted it has not been 6-8 weeks, but they are behind. order now! :earboy2: :wave:
 
I ordered mine on 1/24 and it was just charged to my credit card last week. I got the e-mail with an expiration of 3/31/06. I used the e-mail at WDW last week with no problem. I would wait until about 4/1.
 
I know that it is somewhere either on here or on mousesavers, but does anyone know what the number is to order the DDE and is there anything specific I need to tell them when ordering? Thanks for the help!! :flower:

I ordered mine 2/7 and my credit card still hasn't been debited. I haven't received an email either, although I did tell the CM I wasn't visiting until April. Did you receive the email straight away, or only after your credit card was debited?

The # is (407) 566-5858. You don't really need to tell them anything specific. They'll ask you for the # on the back of the voucher/AP and ask if you want a 2nd card for a spouse, and that's about it.
 
Is there a fee for the second card for the spouse? I saw this on another thread and was wondering if you can get two for the $50 fee.

Can you explain more about this please? Our visit this year is in May, so if I ordered the DDE on May 1, it will be good until June 30, 2006? And if my card does not arrive in time, I should get an email that I can print out and use in place of the card?

There is no fee for the second card. A spouse can get their name on the 2nd card.
 
Thanks athenna that's great to know. This way if we split up in the parks with the kids we can each have our own.

My credit card has not yet been debited. I also did not receive an email. The cm who took my info back on February 9th, said I didn't need the email since our trip wasn't until the end of April. Hope she's right.
 
I ordered my DDE yesterday and received the email within 6 hrs. I wont get the card until I get back because they are so far behind in sending them out,so I will use the email.Disney deb I would enquire about the email just to be on the safe side. Also when you dial the number choose #3 and then press one. It is much faster to talk to someone.
 
I am upgrading my ticket to an annual pass and cannot do so until I arrive at Disney. Is it possible for me to call the DDE # and order a card once I arrive and have my annual pass? I know I won't have my card, but all I need is the confirmation. Is there a place for me to check email (I'm staying at a Disney Resort) or would they fax the confirmation to my hotel's fax?

I know I'm stretching it here, but I want that DDE! :flower:

Keep in mind that the DDE office is only open Monday-Friday. It is my understanding that they will fax a letter to your resort for you, but if you're arriving on a weekend, you won't be able to get that done for you until Monday.

If you call the DDE number after you arrive and after you purchase your AP, they will fax a copy of your confirmation to your WDW resort desk. Then you can use it just as if you have the email confirmation. Hope this helps.
