DDE Card - How to get one???

If we need to wait until we arrive at WDW to purchase our AP's (would like to purchase them at SOG with our military discount) can I call and order the DDE before we arrive without the AP in my hand??

If no, is there a place to pick one up on-site? Or, can you order & pay for one up front & pick it up at will-call somewhere by showing an activated AP???

Not sure how to go about getting another DDE card - we currently have one that expires next month, but didn't want to renew so early - we're not returning until September & would like the DDE to be good for the length of our new AP's.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Unless something has changed, you need to have your AP number in hand when you order DDE. You can't buy the DDE at WDW, it must be ordered in advance.

Yup, last July I needed to give them my voucher number, but they do need something. Depending on how much you spend on food, it may be more worth it to buy the AP now in order to get the DDE card (though I don't know how much the military discount is).

What others in your situation have done is purchase their AP and then call the DDE office at the earliest opportunity. The DDE office hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. If you call first thing in the morning, they can probably have a temporary card ready for you to pick up at Guest Relations at the front of Epcot by 5pm that day. If they are especially busy or you call later in the day, then the temporary card may not be available for pick up until the end of the following day.

Thanks Lisa! This may just work for us! Our flight is due to land at 9 am at MCO & we'll head straight to SOG & purchase our AP's. I may just plan on a counter service meal for our arrival day then, until we can p/u our DDE card at Guest Relations later that day, or the next.

You're welcome. As you get closer to your travel dates, be sure to monitor the DDE discussions here on the DIS boards. DDE office policies change from time to time. They may change the rules about temporary cards, or the pickup location or whatever between now and then.
