it?? I am looking into AP's since DH & I are going for 2 weeks and know we will be returning next year again for 2 weeks, so in the long run it is a better deal :) Anyways, on allears.net it mentions that I can get $20 off the DDE card...so how do I get one?? Thanks!

You must have your AP's or vouchers in hand to order the DDE card, they ask for the numbers off the AP or off the exchange voucher. Once you do purchase the AP, you can call them and order the card, at this late date you will need to arrange to pick up a temporary card at Epcot guest services window. You have to do this in advance, you can't go to the window and ask for the card. DDE is only open Mon-Friday, normal business hours. You can also fax in your order, I have done this also and just emailed them to have my card waiting at Epcot. This is the only window where you can pick-up the card. Here is a link to the form:

How do you get $20 off? I've been debating whether to get this card or not now that they've added a required 18% tip (I prefer to tip based on the service I receive...sometimes 10% for poor service but sometimes 20-25% for excellent service, and prefer to have the server not feel they're getting a tip whether they work for it or not)....but for $45 instead of $65....might be worth it.

If you arrange to have it picked up, when does the 1 year start? I know with the mailing it starts the day it's mailed, which isn't good for us, since it says it can take 3-6 weeks.....we're hoping for a second trip about 11 1/2 months after our first trip (before AP expires) and of course ordering a DDE 6 weeks before we arrive means it'll be expired before our second trip. I'd like both the AP and the DDE to start on the same date.

It is $20 off the $85 price that FL residents pay....or $65.

It doesn't really start when it's mailed. Instead it is all about when one orders. DDE always expires at the end of a month. There is also some bonus time added in I suppose to cover mailing time. At any rate sometime after the first week or 10 days, an extra month is tacked on.

So if you order on 10/1, your card will expire 10/31/08. If you wait until the 10th or so, it will expire on 11/30/08. The CMs at DDE will tell you if it would be better for you to wait a day or two to order.

So if your second trip is 11.5 months out, you should be fine if you order 3-4 weeks before your first trip.
