DDE - Are there exceptions

I know from the Disney website which restaurants participate in DDE.....but are there exceptions such as alcoholic beverages, certain meals, etc? Is it only for meals, or are snacks included? Do the e refillable drink cups get the DDE discount?

Is there a place where they have the "terms and conditions" listed?

I am going on the dining plan in September, but my parents are meeting us for dinner at Coral Reef and we will probably still buy breakfast here and there.

Since we are AP members, and DVC members, I know we will be back without the dining plan, so I figure it is worth it to get the DDE card now even though I won't get the full $50 savings on this trip.

Now....one question....can we use DDE with the Dining Plan....to cover the beverages? Since Alcoholic beverages are not included in the Dining plan, but are covered in DDE, I assume we can get the 20% off of that portion of the bill.

I don't see why that would be a problem, since they'd be billing you seperately for the alcohol anyway. Just remember that the MYW meal plan also includes tip, but NOT the tip on the alcoholic portion, so you'd need at leave a little extra.

I'm assuming that you can get the DDE discount on the part of the bill not covered by the dining plan -- at least that's what we are hoping to do!

The only exceptions to DDE is it isn't accepted on the major holidays: Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, etc. You can use it for appetizers as well as drinks even if you just order from the bar. The only place where you would be able to get the discount on refillable mugs would be at the value resorts, and some people have reported getting it while others didn't. Someone posted that they thought they had to buy a food item with the mug.
