DDE activation?

i just ordered 2 AP's from the dvc website and had them shipped to my house. we should receive them within the next two weeks. our summer trip is planned for late june - and i know that our AP's won't be activated until we exchange the vouchers for passes at WDW.

my question is re: the DDE card. if i order one after i get my AP vouchers in the mail, what will be the "start date" for the DDE? is it one year from the day of purchase....or one year from the day of 1st use.....or something else?

Order your DDE cards toward the last half of the month just ahead of your trip. Then the card will be good starting the month of your trip. If your trip is late June, order the card mid May. It takes 2-3 weeks to get the DDE card (BTW, we got our AP vouchers in 5 days), and the start date will be June. You will then have a year from that to use it.,
