DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning, Gents! Had a good day yesterday. I went to work at the office I was assigned to only to end the day at another. And instead of being at one office all week I'm now at 4 different offices this week. Turns out the person I was supposed to be replacing while she was on vacation decided to not take vacation. Not sure if the practice manager knew this person cancelled her vacation, but my scheduling supervisor wasn't pleased that she wasn't told. So now while I'm back at the same office today, I'll be at different offices the rest of the week. Never a dull moment. Have a good day, guys.

We love ours and use it a lot. Enjoy using it.

And spent Sunday welding up a catapult with my youngest. (We didnt get finished so the launch photos will come later.)

You planning on catapulting your kids?

And topped it all off with bacon wrapped braut's, hot wings, and smoked saurkraut.

Mmmm that looks good.

Any tips? I haven't even taken it out of the box yet.

Well, Randall got you off to a good start...

Ours is a Cuisinart. It seems to run a little hot. We usually adjust the temperature down so we don't burn our food. That was bit of trial and error.

The tray is bigger than most air fryers, but it's still hard to feed a family of 6. When we cook french fries, we find they turn out best if we stop halfway through and turn them over to make sure they all get evenly cooked. But they turn out so well that we would have a hard time going back to cooking them in the oven.

Hi Men,
Been extremely busy with life. Can’t believe my baby girl is now 3 months old. Been back at work since 20th of May and been SLAMMED. Most days after work I get home and work around the farm till 9 or 10 pm when the darkness wins. Hope all is well! Happy Belated Fathers Day to all you Dads.

Welcome back. Hope things settle down for you! Are you getting any sleep?

What we have here is failure to communicate.

Take it out of the box. 😏

:rotfl2:Beat me to it.

Whatever you do, do NOT read the instructions. This goes against everything we hold sacred as men.

Now why didn't I think of that?!?!?

Poor design if you can't use it in the box.

I'll have to see how mine does. It's a T-Fal, I believe.

Ah! Good tip.

I never cook them in the oven anymore. The results are just so sub-par that it's not worth even trying.

:lmao:

Happy Tuesday. Enjoying a day off today. Work tomorrow and then a tennis tournament this weekend.

The front of the house looks like a war zone as the third cable company is running their underground fiber lines. At least they haven't hit the sewer line like one of the other companies. What else should I have expected when selling a home.

Work is going well. Unofficially offered a job on the psyc floor. The good news is that I would get the hours needed for my independent, clinical license. The bad news is that it would be full time (.9) at 4, 9 hour days. Not sure I want to work full time again.

Mine said something similar. Keep in mind, we've moved probably 10 times in 34 years. The military will do that.

She said if we move again, we're selling EVERYTHING in the house as well.

When she said that, my immediate thought was maybe all YOUR stuff, but not mine. :lmao:

Other than a few moves relatives' homes, I've only moved to two apartments and my current home. I don't know how you survived.

Hope things calm down for you in a bit. Hope you enjoyed Father's Day at least and make sure to carve out some time for that little one.
Love Al Bundy!

Sounds like things are moving along with the move. Tennis tournament for you or DD?

They grow up so fast. Don't let is pass you by.

It must be in your mailbox with all the dole whips.
It was a blast, just wish it had been below 100. Its hot under a welding hood.

Uh-huh! Actually, I think it was deliberate on her part. One of the regulars that works there said that she wished I'd come back because they are behind on a lot of work, admin type stuff. I was thinking, but didn't say it, "Yeah, so does every other office. The fact there were floats here for two days, while still having a full staff, meant you should have gotten a big chunk taken out of that admin work." But I didn't say it. There are a lot offices in the same boat and they all work on it a little at a time. So me thinks it was deliberate.

Yeah, let the wife cook.

Congrats on the unofficial offer, that's great! Plus you'd get towards your clinical license? That awesome. Now comes the decision....sorry about that part.

Re-counted and it was 11 times, but only 3 in the last 24 years. So yes, 8 in the first 10 years. The military will do that.

On a different note...just got back from a couple days at Vero beach. Nice break, but 2 days isn't enough. With checkin and checkout, more like 1 1/2 days.

Morning all how goes it this hump day morning?

So company is just bout done closing on 2 new properties that will hopefully start construction before the end of the year. I'm about to get super busy around here with 2 new builds going at the same time along with 2-3 remodels.

Yeah, let the wife cook.
Ummm no, not gonna make that suggestion in my house.

:lmao: Ok, well...I didn't know about that. :lmao:
I tried the air fryer last night. Did fish & chips. And... I was very impressed!

Interesting... so who else is the house cook where they live??

I'm pretty sure my wife it trying to kill us when she has to cook. So I do all the cooking. My DD cooks her own dinner when she doesn't want what I'm making.

Nice. We just found out the toaster oven we got has an airfryer setting. So I may have to try a few things.

What I really liked is (with the fish), the batter was crispy and not even a little bit soggy or oily. Usually after I eat fried, battered fish I feel a bit sick from the grease. Not this time.
And far superior to oven baking.

My favourite story is when I was away and DW called to tell me that the meal she and her mom cooked didn't taste as good as when I made it. I was surprised, because it was a very simple recipe. Make meatballs with ground beef, a bit of tomato juice and breadcrumbs. Toss in a can of tomato sauce with a tsp of sugar. Serve over noodles.
It became more clear when she said "We used a can of tomato soup instead of tomato sauce. That's the same thing, right?"

oy

That's 3 of us...
