DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Evening Guys.

Hope you all had a great Sunday. Been a lazy day except for 7k on the treadmill. Watching these WDW walkthrough videos does make this easier, not sure what we happen when I started running outdoors again.

So even we limited travel opportunities we are still planning. The March 2022 cruise is starting to look more likely to happen (right Chief) and yesterday we booked a cruise for March of 2023. We decided to take advantage of a great deal on a chart Bahama's cruise to book two cabins and take DW and his girlfriend as a graduation present. Guess he needs to stay in school now. ;)

Also pretty certain on DDCC 10.

A friend used to work overnights at a pharmacy. It was brutal on him. He couldn't sleep well during the day and tried taking Ambien. One day after turning down an invite to a BBQ at a neighbor's house he showed up an hour later laughing and drinking beers. The next day he had absolutely no memory of doing it. Two years ago he changed jobs and is now a fully functional adult.
Yikes!
and... I can relate a bit. I get asked "what did you do today" and... I have to really think to remember if it's after a midnight shift.
We drove over an hour away thru amish country to look at some lake front lots,
See anything promising?

Morning Gents! Well, today's the day I start my new job, and I'm looking forward to it. Though I am a bit saddened that I have to give up working from home. The convenience of not having to commute was nice. Now I get to interact with people again...something I love doing. The next couple of days will be spent at the office training. I was told that Wednesday I'll be in a medical office somewhere, but we'll see when I show up today what the schedule will be. Well, I'm going to keep it short today. I'll make sure to play nice with the other kids, and to bring an apple to the teacher. :teeth: This was something I use to tell co-workers who were leaving for other jobs.

I agree 100%, get tested it is worth it. I'm a cancer survivor of two primary cancers, and have to get tested every 3 months, it can be a PIA sometimes, but better than the alternative.

2x survivor?! That's awesome, dude. Praying for continued health.

Excellent reminder. Remember doing my colonoscopy a couple of years ago, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I was supposed to get my first one this year, but due to COVID it was put off a year.

Wow! That's serious. Glad he got a day shift.

That stinks. :furious: :lmao:

I'm taking my US plumbing exam in 3 weeks. Pretty sure I'm up to speed.
Good to meet you in person. Not knowing my identity is part and parcel of the whole international man of mystery thing.

Then you can come over to my place and get my septic squared away. :thumbsup2

I get the whole international man of mystery thing, so your secret is safe with me....unless everyone knows, then, well....ok.

Morning from a sunny Westfield NB. DD is back to school this week, so I'll be doing some things around the house to pass the time. Have a great Monday guys.

Sorry buddy. So the deposit for the place in Golden Oak has to wait another year, I guess.......

What's another year or 500?

Tax time not my favourite time of year, paid my income tax last week  and today in the mail I got my property tax bill from the province, they want money too

Do you think they get together to time these mailings for maximum pain?

Afternoon all from Progressive Care Unit. Things seem to be clicking better today, so hopefully, that's a good sign.

Evening fellas from a chilly London. Great to catch up with everyone last night.

You mentioned KY finest. If it wasn't Pappy, then what were you drinking?

See anything promising?

Horse and buggy on the road. The lake property didn't have much. There was some land. DW is calling to inquire.

Enjoy the training. Hope you can pick up something permanent. Are you working with a temp agency or your company directly? Will the hospital hire you permanently directly or indirectly?

Hey guys. Finally filed my taxes this weekend. After seeing the numbers, I really wish I hadn't.

I guess you owe? Or, just demoralizing how much is taken out in taxes and how little we get in return?

Many people escrow their property insurance & homeowner's insurance. But for those who don't, our property insurance is due in January. But, they deliver the bill the first part of December. Merry Christmas - here's a huge bill.

Even worse though is we get property taxes on our vehicles in our birthday month. I guess it's the government's way of delivering a birthday spanking.

We get our property tax in June. Vehicle insurance is 3 months after your birthday.
