DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning from a sunny Westfield NB. Finished the pool prep and yard work this morning, going to have lunch then head over to the range for a couple of hours. May get a ride on the bike this afternoon. Have a great day guys.

VP Mike Pence flew to meet with Florida peeps about theme park re-opening, and today is the day they can submit a plan with dates. The December dates are all booked up now, so I hope this all in gamble works.

Ours are open, but all the pro's have taken them over for lessons.

I guess the APs will have to book in like everyone else, if they have to book an entry time. I think everyone has to start to get that it's not gonna be the same for a little while. Some of the stuff you read on what people are expecting is just the ultimate in self entitlement.

I didn't give the article much credence. With the AP holders, maybe they can limit it to online bookings. I thought they may try to sell extra tickets, so even if you were an AP holder, you still had to up the extra cash.

I never will run with you. Maybe I can meet you on the tennis court one day.

We were back today. It was good. i have missed being with everyone but it wasn't quite the same. Some stayed home and watched a live stream and that makes sense as they were mostly the elderly and those with infants. The rest of us split up between the main sanctuary and the fellowship hall to spread out more. Those that were comfortable with it were even shaking hands and hugging again. Hope you can get out on the courts soon. Maybe Andy will let you do it if you spread out over three courts!

Our Bishop is following the Archdiocese, which had way more cases than us. We are following all the Governor's unconstitutional restrictions, except Communion. It was the Baptist's who brought the lawsuit while we remained silent. This whole ordeal really is unnerving at so many levels.

Suddenly I have an urge to take up running.

Nope. Cash payments are still way easier than that. :scared1: :lmao:

Ran 3K yesterday and just managed to do it before my left calf cramped up, which was a nice change from my last run. Unfortunately, my right knee hurts so much that I can't walk very well today.
Still waiting on this elusive runner's high. Presume it will happen when I stop running and hurting.

Why did the moron keep bashing his head against the wall?

Because it felt so good when he stopped.

And, I'm A+, which officially means I'm both smart and not negative. So, there.

Well that day has come. The one day a year when I have to do yard work after the winter.
#worstdayoftheyear

On the bright side, I’m now basking in the after glow of relaxing with a rum and coke and doing nothing for the rest of the day because I earned it.
#bestdayoftheyear

Those 364 days of neglect are totally worth it, though.

Ran 20k this morning, so just shy of a half marathon. 2 runners highs for your reference Ponzie, 1 at 8 and another at 15. Feeling it now though, that's the furthest I've run in over 2 years, and me and the boys did a 10k yesterday, so I've got a sense that I won't be running tomorrow. Had some righteous Pulled Pork that I did on an 18hr cook over Friday night, and today we are using up the leftovers with some pulled pork hash, with a cheeky poached egg on the top.

Sounds like you definitely earned the BBQ.

That’s my problem. I did 3k two days ago (and I could hardly walk, the next day). I haven’t gone far enough yet.
Are you sure it’s a high and not just some kind of fevered delirium?

Tomayto, Tomahto.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Happy Victoria Day to the northern brothers. Had MIL over Friday night outdoors doing the 4 corners distance thing and then a couple of friends over Saturday for a couple of hours again with the 4 corner thing. Have a good week and stay safe guys.

Top WDW list for today.................... Top 3 Area background music. Can be a resort, a pool area or a specific park area / land.

I strongly suspect that soon, in the news, we will see a major outbreak at a church. And... you know what? That's perfectly fine. Things are opening up and there will be pockets of outbreak and those will be contained and then they'll open up more.
I've told the ball an....err....DW,
SWMBO
I have no intention of going when they open. Not a big DTD fan anyway...shopping just ain't my thing. When the parks open, not sure I want to be in close (enough) proximity to even 25% of tge normal crowd.
Yeah, I think I'll wait a while too, after it opens. Might not have a choice in that matter, anyways.
Finished the pool prep and yard work this morning,
Doing the pool thing, myself, this morning. Just taking a little break...
Nope. Cash payments are still way easier than that. :scared1: :lmao:

Yeah, yeah... I know.
I keep thinking "It'll maybe not hurt so much this time."
I'm still waiting.

I'll skip this one. I guess I'm just not inclined that way. I hardly ever notice the background music. At least not enough to stop and say "Oh, I like/dislike that."

Happy Victoria Day to my Canadian Brethren, and may this be a lesson to the rest of you ungrateful Oiks on how to properly transition from colonial power. Chucking tea in a river. Tsk.

Look forward to it mate :thumbsup2. I think APs will have to book in, so they can manage capacity properly. Watch the internet start to melt at that point.

Main St Town Square - Disney in a bottle, right there.
Underwater at the AofA in the main pool
Does the band that used to play outside Mizners count? I liked them.

I liked the Alien Buggy eyed band tune in Oga's (the Doo do Doo do Doo do doo doodoo Doodly doo doodoo doo doo doo one) in Ogas Cantina, it made me feel like I was in the movie. You're all singing that in your head now, aren't you?
Trouble n Strife?

Have a great day chaps.

Hey, gents! Just a quick check in. Had mellow week last week, and spent the weekend working in the yard. Not much else to report. Have a good day, gents.

Just cleaning up from some painting. I did well this time. On my way.....Rum sounds good :drinking1 View attachment 495013

Dude, that looks like a crime scene. Are you sure that painting is all you were doing? 😆

I suppose so, do you want me to wait by the mailbox?

Don't forget the snacks.

Ran 20k this morning, so just shy of a half marathon.

20K! I just finished 5 and I'm ready for a nap.

I need a nap just reading this.

Yeah, I miss seeing everyone at church. I had a church gig this past Sunday where I was one of 5 people in the church: the two readers, two musicians (I was one), and the person running the webcam. Really weird to sing in for a service with no one there.

We don't have a pool, but I set up my DD's Ninja Warrior/Monkeybars thingy...whatever it's called. It's a thing that gets strapped between two trees and you can attached various hand-hold type things. It's fun for her.

Wow - Top 3 Area Background Music....that's tough - so I think I'll just go with the 3 I've been into most recently....

1. Nomad Lounge Background Loop

2. World Showcase - International Gateway Loop - has a little bit of everything to give me my EPCOT WS fix!

3. Canada Pavilion Area Loop - I don't know why but I love this one. Probably because it's a prominent memory from when I'm sitting in the seating area to the left of the Rose and Crown having a beer with friends or family. There's a speaker nearby where the Canada music blends into the UK area....great memories.

That is tough because they do a great job incorporating music into each area and music is a thing for me. One of my top 5 that I will really miss ...Fountain of the Nations
...
Epcot Entrance Music
Tomorrowland Music
Port Orleans Riverside

I thought I was the only one with a She Who Must Be Obeyed.

1. Wilderness Lodge lobby
2. Fountain of Nations (RIP)
3. Hollywood Studios

Unless it's your church!

We have a meeting tonight to try and figure out what opening back up will look like.

And yet you will walk 6 miles after a little white ball

Exercise is totally transformed when you can score points! (and triumph over your sons)

As with @pkondz , not something I really pay attention to, so I'll have to go with not so background sound....

Band at Biergarten. Ziggy Zaggy Ziggy Zaggi (or whatever is the correct spelling)
Oom Pah band outside in Germany
Japanese drummers.

I guess since Biergarten, you have to go in to hear, I would also include Voices of Liberty as either #1 or #2...those folks can sing.

The entire background track during MNSSHP. Lot of songs there I really like...even after hearing them 6-7 times in an evening.

Truth.

But, I'd still rather do it with a small white ball and paddles, 15 solid and striped balls or a ball and aluminum bat. Never have really understood the fascination with golf...sorry. You work and work and work to get the ball into the hole only to take it right out. At least with baseball/softball, there is sport...and variety and offense/defense. With golf, you're just flogging the poor defenseless ball. (Okay, guess you're on the offensive and the poor ball is on the defensive). :lmao:

Unless it's your church!
It's going to be someone's church. And some businesses. And some...
Don't forget the goal is to flatten the curve. It can't be completely stopped. At least not until there's a vaccine... if there ever is one.

Morning, Gents! Just a quick hello this morning from beautiful Cape Cod. Not much to report today on the work front. I do, however, have a video chat/interview today with yet ANOTHER recruiter today at lunch...we'll see how that goes. I'm going to be honest with her and tell her that I've not had any luck with recruiters as they've all flaked out on me and stopped returning calls/emails. Hopefully that'll make her work hard for me.

On the study front for my medical coding, I've turned a corner with regards to studying. Sure, I've been studying, but not as hard as I should. : Well, I work up this morning and ready to study and had been doing so since about 5am, it's now 7:20 am. So a good 2 plus hours of study. While I do like my job, for the most part, it's not the job I want for the rest of my life. The only way to change that is to study and move on. So that's my motivation. Have a good day, gents, and we'll chat throughout.

My brother lived in Germany for a few years for work, and my DW and I had gone to visit him. We, being my brother and I, came up with a saying, "At the end of every trail is a biergarten." Loved that country. God it's beautiful...well, in Bavaria it is, didn't see the rest of the country.

Truth.

Good way to get your frustrations out.

Happy Tuesday guys. Or for Randall, his 2nd Friday of the week.

Today is my Friday eve. We're closing on the house on Friday, so taking Thursday and Friday off from work. With Monday being a holiday, will make for a really long weekend.
You can interpret that any way you'd like.
