DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

It's Saint Martin's NB.cool little town, great seafood restaurants, nice relaxing place to enjoy an afternoon. If you have seenO'Canada at Epcot, there is a picture this town's covered bridge in the film.
Dang. Thinking I need to get out that way. Been fairly close, but...

Congratulations to the 2019 Woodward Mixed Doubles B Tournament Champions. This was our first dad/ daughter tournament championship. We made it to the semi-finals yesterday. But, we had to race home, shower, church, out to dinner, and then home where I crashed. Today, we were on the Court from 8AM to 1 PM, with maybe a 30 minute break. Then, DW and I went and played pickleball.

I'm not sure which hurts worse, my knees or my face. But, the beer is certainly making it feel better. I usually have a hat in my tennis bag, but forgot this go around. The beer and the win make it all worth it.

Good luck with the rest of your matches.

Thanks.

2 out of 3 is a good start.

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you are having a great weekend. We took a drive out to a small seaside town for some beach combing and to explore some caves..View attachment 422831View attachment 422832

That looks a whole lot more relaxing & enjoyable than my day.

Well done!

Top O the Mornin Dads! Looks like a good weekend for most. Have a good week gents.
Morning fellas! Got the family home safe from Disneyland. We didn’t go on Smugglers’ Run because of the wait time but Galaxy’s Edge was awesome. My wife (who is from Ireland) didn’t realize they would be in character. So when a cast member told her he’d never heard of the Ireland system, she tells him “of course you have! Look at all that red hair on your head!” The boy would have stayed in Galaxy’s Edge the entire time.

Ronto Wrap was good. I’d give it an 8/10.

Crowds were nonexistent. Based on that alone, single best Disney vacation ever! And DCA brought back Soarin Over California and I enjoy it so much more than World. I hope they keep it and offer both.
Glad you had a good trip.

Congrats to you both! Great memory to have.

Hey guys. Yesterday was my lucky 13th anniversary, do DW and I went out for dinner. We went for a drive earlier in the day with DD11, with no real purpose other than going for a drive. Saturday I spent painting the front step and mowing the lawn.

That led to 3 hours in Delta Sky Club which turned into 4 hours as flight was delayed. Then severe storms here at home so plane could not land and did not have enough fuel to keep circling so got diverted for more fuel and didn’t get home til 11:00. Top that off with pics of my SIL enjoying my cigars and my bourbon last night while I was dealing with all the travel stuff :headache:
Travel headaches...I've been there. But never been taunted with someone drinking my own booze.

Thursday I played in a charity golf tournament for Give Kids The World and won a new 50 inch TV, and yesterday we found an old beater for Declan to drive around town. 2008 Jeep Compass with almost 300,000 Km on it. It makes some strange creaking noises but it runs well.
Nice win with the TV. I'm sure Declan is happy to have something to run around town in. If a mechanic owned it before, it should hopefully be reliable for a while.

I don't recall if I've ever been in a cave. Huh.
No? Not even the one on Tom Sawyer Island in WDW?

Been to Nova Scotia a couple times, but... need to see more. :)
Nova Scotia is great, but there's lots more out east. Come on down sometime.

Congrats on the win. Sounds like it took a toll physically, but I'm sure it's worth it to spend that time with DD.

DW and DD left this morning for a 2 week trip to Newfoundland.
Cool. What part?
Too bad they weren't here last week. the weather was warm (25-28C) and sunny the whole week. Cooler (19C), overcast and rain showers today in St. John's, and supposed to be cooler all week, although hopefully some sunshine.

Morning folks.
Been busy already. Got two of the three replacement light fixtures put up in the bathroom. Now have to get ready to go to a memorial service.
Congratulations to the 2019 Woodward Mixed Doubles B Tournament Champions.
Congrats!
Happy New Brunswick Day! Feel free to take the day off, tell your boss I said it was OK.
Happy Terry Fox Day!

Allow me to correct myself. I don't think I've ever been in a non-manmade cave. ;)
