DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I wish I was retired, got another 14 months to go before that happens.
Ahhhh...
I though you'd already chucked it all.
14 months is better then the five years I need to "legally" retire.

But then add five more after that to keep the SSA from reducing my benefits...
Unless Congress changes the rules again (meaning it could get worse)...

Heck who am I kidding, since the 08-Crash and the current direction of government, I don't believe retirement is even a viable option anymore.

The downside of that is we are past the flood level, streets, roads, ramps, parking lots are flooded and it is still suppose to rise throughout the weekend. The prediction is close to what we had in 2008 and that's not good for one woman who works for me; she had 5 feet of water in her basement that year.

Yikes. Hang in there. Hope you guys can ride it out ok.

To make matters worse the biggest craft brewer in the area just tweeted that access to their building us now cut off and their brew pub is closed until further notice. :sad1:

NOOO!!!! The humanity!

Those are some big dam gates.

This is the brewery that has been cut off. I'm thinking of volunteering to wade through and help save the beer.

Some good news on the brew pub, another of the craft brewers grabbed some kegs from them and our pouring them in their brew pub for the weekend.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Making Pork Chops alla Pizzaiola for dinner.

Sounds like it's time for us all to meet up at CJ's place again.

All right that's it! Seems we can't wait for DAN today so I'm calling it! Heading over to Studios to try out the new Baseline Tap House and last one there takes Princess Leia home and remember she only likes nice men so that leaves all of us out of luck.............. Have a good weekend gents!

Half day of school today, so went "out" to lunch (hey it was taco Bell, but I'm counting it).

Called the clerk of courts office to begin setting up an appointment to start probate on my mom's estate. I've been struggling to make myself do it, I guess it's another step in making it real and I don't think I was ready for it.

In completely different ranting...I have one of those butthole neighbors. He isn't friendly to any of us (neighbors not family) and does jerky things. He has a debris pile in his yard...it was at least 6' tall and 15' by 25' and see me of the stuff had been there for at least two years. Well on Wednesday (after a full day and morning of rain) he tried to set it on fire. I was at work and missed most of this, but the city fire department was called out three times on Wednesday but it continued to smolder all night. Yesterday the fire department was called again and they fully doused the mess. And today he has done nothing still with the remaining mess.

Happy Friday. A long day at work and another HS match. Youngest won doubles but lost at singles, a match she should have won. Disappointing.

Where is Dan? I guess Lady K laid the smack down and kept him doing chores instead of calling it.

Great idea. Save the beer.

YUUUP!!! Save the beer.

My condolences but congrats to the girls
.

Thanks.

Somebody call it, I'm sick of my job. Do I look sick to you? Maybe I should tell them I'm sick...

Yes, sick in the head. :lmao:

Understandable but at least they won. Congrats to the both of them.
.

Thanks.

4-5 years out myself, as long as the AG wins the legal case. :furious:

Or, she likes kissing her brother. Yeah, we are still out of luck. :lmao:

Taco Bell can sometimes be delightful, especially with enough alcohol. Sorry to hear about your neighbor and good luck at probate.

Morning Guys,

Another night of rain so the flooding in town and down river should be getting really bad. I can't imagine having to go worry about that every year. The river still hasn't crested yet.

DS and I are off to a volleyball tournament today while DW is off on the school's grade 8 trip. They left yesterday morning and she called me last night ready for a drink. Sounds like they have a few little lovelies along with them on the trip.

Have a good one all.

Morning all.
Been a while, but I'm finally caught up everywhere.
Should I go back and catch up on a few weeks worth of chatter?

Yeah... No.

Hope everyone's good.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Enjoy your Saturday.

Good luck to Declan and sorry to hear that the flooding is getting worse, can’t imagine.

Good to hear from ya

The Boys won both of their matches today and should be well set for 1st in the pool. Team dinner tonight before 2 more round-robin matches tomorrow morning. I had to come out of retirement for the second match to run the warm-up as the coach is doing double duty with a JV team playing across town. He made it back at the start of the match so I'm now enjoying my 4th time retiring with a beer at the hotel.

I haven't heard much more about the flooding at home but things can't be good because I just read the Weather Network has shown up. I hope there isn't a Canadian version of Jim Cantore.
