DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Happy Tuesday, or better known as payday this time around. It's been a January recovery as we not only did Christmas, but DW got the flights for our June trip.

Wow now how did I manage to respond inside the quote:crazy2::eek::lmao::rotfl2:

Which further attests to your notebook. :lmao:

That's what my thoughts were. We don't do the PH, so it is one park a day. I really like Star Tours and RnRC, but with so much of the DHS park closed, those waits get longer. We are skipping it this year. In true commando fashion, we still to RD to closure. Although, we aren't first at RD anymore, and we strategically place ourselves near IG at Epcot to leave after Illuminations and place ourselves at TOTWL for new bad Wishes. :lmao:

Morning, boys.
It's too early outside.

Especially when it's morning outside. :lmao:

Well, I don't have anything else booked yet, but I managed to get ADR's for Drew's first official Disney World trip this summer. Mostly old favorites, kid-friendly joints.

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Via Napoli
Chef Mickey's
50's Prime Time
Boma
Biergarten
Turf Club (me and the missus)

Mine have outgrown CM thankfully, but you started over again there. Happy Birthday to the youngest. We really enjoyed Turf Club - the prime rib was one of the best steaks at WDW. SSR isn't a resort we stay in though, and it is a destination location so we don't get back over that way.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Going to the Hawks / Preds game tonight. Hawks need to go on a major run here and it's gotta start tonight. Have a good one gents!
RON!!! I don’t know how you do it!! You have any March or September trips planned?
Haven't booked yet but planning an long weekend flying in Friday Sep 14 flying back Tuesday Sep 18.
Happy Monday. I thought it was Tuesday most of the day. Not a good start to the week.
Yea, that would suck
Hope you make it out before any bad weather. We are forecasted for more snow & ice Thursday. I'm going out tomorrow to be prepared to make French toast over the weekend.
Thanks. Looks like I should be good, at least as of now.
I'll call it right now for ya mate if you like.....enjoy your countdown. We are at 57.
Thanks but traditions are traditions, call it has to be on Fridays I guess.

Nice. We really liked the turf club. And love Boma. Never done 50s or Whispering Canyon. Is that the one with the ketchup thing?
TOTWL for new bad Wishes
Just when I thought we'd stopped arguing.....:rotfl:

Fair do's.

Swimming tonight with the kids, and Sushi.
Have a good evening.

Hello gents, hope you all had a good weekend. Very chatty in here and some new old guys dropping in.
I took yesterday off work since DD had a PD day off school. Went with her and DW to see The Greatest Showman. I had no idea what to expect, but I actually enjoyed it. You have to appreciate musicals though.

Sounds great. Although I've only been to Via Napoli and 50s PT myself. Whispering Canyon seems like a carnivore's dream.

Whispering Canyon. Is that the one with the ketchup thing?
Yes. Not sure If I would want to be part of it though. Apparently you can flip your coasters to choose to partake in the antics or not.

I'll be there from Sep 7 to the 22nd. Let me know when it get started closer.

Yeah, I know Chef Mickey's isn't the greatest meal, but I really didn't have issues with it when I went. And it's kind of a rite of passage for the little guy.

I've heard good things about Turf Club. We get the one night out, so we wanted to try something new. Thought it would be fun to try and pop over to the Hangar Bar afterwards, too.

Yeah, it's always something new!

Those sound good for the rug rat. :)
And happy birthday to him too!

:confused3 No idea how that happened so fast. Seems like just the other day we were announcing the news of his arrival.

Nice. We really liked the turf club. And love Boma. Never done 50s or Whispering Canyon. Is that the one with the ketchup thing?

Another vote for the Turf Club, good to hear. I like Boma quite a bit as well. 50's PT is a lot of fun with the servers' antics. The fried chicken is great, too.

Yes, Whispering Canyon has the ketchup thing and more antics. We enjoy it. The food there is a bit more hit-or-miss, served family style. When it's on, it's really good. When it's off...well, the antics are fun.

Sounds great. Although I've only been to Via Napoli and 50s PT myself. Whispering Canyon seems like a carnivore's dream.

::yes:: Like I told Dan, it can be hit-or-miss.

Yes. Not sure If I would want to be part of it though. Apparently you can flip your coasters to choose to partake in the antics or not.

I've heard that. My feeling is, if you don't want to take part in the fun, why eat there?

I forgot to ask mate, are the nerves building up yet? If West Ham were in a final Sunday, I'd be having kittens right about now.

::yes:: The whole Patriots/Belichick/Brady mystique is scary. It sure is fun to dream, though...

Yeah, me neither. I don't get the joke.

It's just a lot of random pranks and stupidity. Sort of like monks who chant and smack themselves in the face with boards for no reason. Or a Ministry of Silly Walks.

Okay, I don't know who's wreaking havoc with the stock market today, but would you please stop? :sad2:

Happy Tuesday. Babysitting the Mutt I did not want while she is working in the lab doing science stuff. We played fetch the stick where I throw a stick, he gets it and rips it to pieces. Much more fun when he is not a permanent resident here.

I approve. Never ate at the Turf Club but hear good things about it. They went through a bad stretch for a while but it seems to be a thing of the past.

Thanks but traditions are traditions, call it has to be on Fridays I guess.

I remember the announcement on your TR. Next he will be asking for the keys to the car.

Nice. We really liked the turf club. And love Boma. Never done 50s or Whispering Canyon. Is that the one with the ketchup thing?

YOU HAVE TO DO 50's. Good show and food. The fried chicken is good, maybe not the best in the world but good none the less. When I took the Princess and 6 of her friends to the World, we ate there. Our "cousin" gave them carp and it was a blast.

Swimming tonight with the kids, and Sushi.
Have a good evening.

Are you combining the two and swimming in a pond where you catch your own sushi?

Yeah, I know Chef Mickey's isn't the greatest meal, but I really didn't have issues with it when I went. And it's kind of a rite of passage for the little guy.

Last time I went there was when a bunch of us during one of the marathons. They let DD order a flatbread they served at the lounge so she wasn't charged for the meat she wouldn't eat. i found the meal just OK. And as you said, the antics were fun.

I've heard that. My feeling is, if you don't want to take part in the fun, why eat there?

Why go otherwise?

Tradition is tradition.
What if... traditionally tradition wasn’t tradition?

Me thinks he doth protest too much.
That mutt’s growing on you I bet.

I say it’s the best fried chicken in the World. Maybe not the world though.
And the PB&J shake is really good and the onion rings are awesome.

Oooo, onion rings. Likey.
Are you combining the two and swimming in a pond where you catch your own sushi?
Those Curly haired Ninja skills have an upside. Mad skills with a knife.

We were thinking in a couple of years, when Curly will get it more. Really looking forward to the Fried Chicken on the Charleston/Savannah stretch. Never really eaten it much.Might as well start with a high bar....
Much more fun when he is not a permanent resident here
I think someone misses the pooch.....
