DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Agreed. Brian was the best one. Truce.
Congrats to DD, North Carolina is far away enough from KY, right?
......

Agreed. Holy Grail was the best one.
Truce.
North Carolina is about 6-8 hours east of me. KY is long east/west, but short north/south.

If you or DW have any questions, I'll be happy to help in whatever way I can. I've talked to many people who've had success with it I love science and the science behind it makes sense.

Ok. She's found a lady OT who was with club swim team when dd was there. They chat quite a bit about it. I just eat what she tells me.

They always do. All you can do is try to minimize the size of their win.

You try to minimize the size of your what? :lmao:

On a different note.
I'm half way to my goal for weight loss.
As of this morning, I've lost 50 lbs.
I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there. ;) Actually, in 3 weeks we get to Disney and I will NOT be on my diet there.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled DDC banter.
Congrats!!! My wife found out she was diabetic and started a diet program that day. She has lost 30 pounds, which she would like to lose another 20.
She started this around last April, bought a treadmill and she walks every day religiously. She was concerned when we went to wdw for two weeks this past September. She wasn't staying on her current eating plan. Believe it or not, we ate and drank everything she wanted too. With all the walking, which she wears a Fitbit, she managed to lose 2 pounds. Lol
We did more walking then we had done in years. I was the one huffing and puffing, she walked my butt off.lol
At the time, she was on insulin and she found it hard keeping her blood sugar up while down there.
Congrats again and good luck on the next goal.

Thanks and congrats to DW!

The keto diet is REALLY good for diabetics as well...the primary premise of the diet is keeping the blood sugar and consequently the insulin level in your blood steady. Do a web search on keto and diabetes (or you can look at youtube videos...there are a few doctors out there that do a good job explaining it in lay terms).

I expect (since I eat a lot less now) I might still maintain or lose at Disney even though I will eat what I want and we have an ADR at beaches & cream. Even if I gain a few pounds back, I'll just hop back on the diet when we get back and I'll be back into Ketosis in a few days.

Congrats to your DW on the weight loss.

Yes, more than one...

Yeah, I figured one for both DW and I. I'm not buying one for the children. :lmao:

She is now off all insulin. Portion control and cutting sugary drinks with exercise did it for her. Her counts went from 11 down to 4 in just a few months. She still tests everyday and her sugar ranges from 90 -105.
Another thing we noticed, we eat a lot of sit down meals while we are there, Narcoossee, citricos, cali grill, kona just no name a few. She would always get an appetizer, entree, wine and dessert. She just can't physically eat that much anymore. Me on the other hand. Lol
She was a self inflicted diabetic. She basically eats what's she wants but she picks her battles. Instead of a big slab of chocolate cake, she will just eat a fork full.
Another this she has found, once she stopped eating a lot of sugar and sweets, she can't eat a lot of it because it's too sweet. She took a sip of my Pepsi to take a pill and she made a face and ask me, how can you drink that? Lol

Happy Saturday. Rainy day here and snow/ice forecasted next weekend. I'm ready for summer. For those cruise guys, do you all buy the alcohol package?

Wehaven't. We had it on the NCL cruise that we cancelled after they screwed us over but that was an included perk.

Crisco !!!! Eagle fans, not philly fans, big difference. Phillies and sixers all have won championships and no problems with poles. Flyers have won a few too but I don't think street lights were invented yet. Lol

:rotfl2:

Great hanging with you, Rachel and Hunter! Sadly it doesn't look like we are going back for a year or more. :guilty:

But I will say, It's great to see both you and Dave posting here again. :D

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hope all are having a good weekend.

Congrats to DW and great that she was able to catch the diabetes and take care of it.

If you wait a few weeks, we can. We'll be there the 18th - 24th.

Because it's way better than coke.
I live in Atlanta, so my choice of cola is constantly under attack, but that's okay, I'm used to tons of people being wrong.
:lmao:

You poor, poor man! Some day you may see the error of your ways.

Afternoon chaps, from a Sunny East End of London. Coco was awesome. Lady K was blubbing at the end. Slow cooked Beef Stew for dinner tonight. Going for a run with the boy, so only a gentle one today, but its nice to see him start to pace. Did 27 miles last week, so feeling pretty good. Still no beer for a week though.

Do you only get a limited amount of alcohol on a package then chief? I've never done a cruise. Do you get a load of vouchers to use or something?
I missed most of the past week's discussion but I will just leave this here.
Great scene. I'll just leave it there.

Yeah, not a fan of Pepsi. The old logo was cool. Tremblant might be a step closer mate, we bought the curly haired ninja next year's ski stuff yesterday, as our local shop had a 60% off sale on. Happy days.
Agreed. Holy Grail* was the best one.

I thought Pepsi were based in Atlanta as well. Every day is a school day......
I will be at WDW next weekend
That would be nice. 2 and half months for us. Enjoy your weekend in the warm.
