DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Took the day off today and we are off to JV Volleyball Provincials as DS and his buddies go in search of the school's third straight banner. Two games later today and one tomorrow morning before they get into the playoff round. Were supposed to have some torrential rain here for the next couple of days as well; glad we don't live near the river.

Good luck to him and the team.

Yes.. Florida can be a strange place, but then again so is my home state, so I’ll not be tossing stones.

Concrats again to the young’en. She definitely needs to get her Captain's license. So many great possibilities open up with one of those (the least of which being a retirement plan for driving boats at Disney somewhere on down the line).

Thanks. I'll run the boat driving at Disney by her. Maybe she can get me some free passes.

Yes, she looks happy on FB and is proud to show them off at school. Have a good day of life of CJ enjoying all the festivities. Good luck to Andrianna on her boating license.

Thanks. Woke up this morning to severe thunderstorm warnings and localized flooding for most of the day. So no Guac for me today. A bit disappointing but there is always tomorrow.

OK boys. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Happy Cinco de Mayo. Last one at the Tequila bar has to take Ariel home. And let me tell ya, she turns crazy when she gets hold of your dinglehopper.

I believe he's diligently working on a new type of swim gear just to solve that exact problem.
Being fairly clever, I think he'll work something out.

Are you saying he could shove them up his .... :scared1: :lmao:

Yes, she does. And it's magical. I didn't know she moved across seas though.

I cancelled my BOG dinner ADR this week, now I'm kinda regretting it.

Morning all. Did well at tennis this AM against some good players. A good way to start the day and work off the beers last night. Opted for the Kona Longboard beer with pizza last night.

Watching Swansea vs Everton match for now. Dan, who to cheer for? Swansea up 1-0 with a header around 25 min mark.

Last HS match today before regionals. It won't effect seeding, but should be a good practice match, better than I can simulate.

DD and one of her nursing brat pack. 4 of them got ready this morning with mimosa

Congrats again to her. She sure looks happy.Mimosas sound like a great way to start any day.

This morning I booked Fast Passes for DW and DD's dance school trip in July. Since it was the first day, everything was available, including Pandora, although I only got them the boat ride since DW is not sure she will even bother going there. I reminded her that you don't need to like or know the Avatar movie to appreciate the land, but she's on the fence.

I was thinking about Fast Pass, and I may get disagreement on this (I'm not sure I agree with myself), but it's hard to figure out where you'll be and how you'll feel two months from now in Florida (or in my case, how someone else will feel). I wonder if Universal's way is better - pay for Fast Pass upfront if you want it, then just get into whatever Fast Pass line you happen to be near on that day. No having to book and guess where you'll be or how you'll feel.

Just wait until she tries a snarfblatt on you. It's a whole new world (oops, wrong movie).

Please tell me one our Canadian dads picked up a coupl bottles before they pulled it all....
Nope. One thing you won't find in my liquor cabinet is gin. I never got into gin & tonic.

Well there ain't no room in the front bud.
I didn't know she moved across seas though
She kept banging on about wanting to be part of my world, or something.

The design is there, but "Pretzel smugglers" doesn't quite have the same impact though Rob. And the salty ones are making me smart a little bit, I've gotta be honest with ya mate.
Sorry chief.

West Ham mate. Always West Ham.

Evening boys from London. Went to see West Ham beat Spurs last night and pretty much end their title hopes. It really doesn't get much better than that.
Got in at 11 and then decided to do the kids board for Disney. Now I am very interested in a cheeky Woodford Reserve and a Cuban. Ribs marinating in the fridge in dry rub, smoker out tomorrow. All in all a good weekend so far. CJ hopefully you made it down for the guac in the end.....

Thats a lovely photo Mike. Congrats to the DD, and enjoy the proud moment. And Mimosas for breakfast is one hell of a way to start the day.

May their skills serve them well.
With those intact, there’s no need for good luck.

Good luck to Declan.

Good luck to him and the team.

The dream is over. The Boys ran into a hot team in the semifinals and fell 2 sets to 1. I have never seen that team play as well as they did today and a few key non-calls and a couple of questionable calls didn't help either. It is always interesting when you play in that part of the Province. They gave it a good run and it is always fun to watch them play.

We didn't get that batch, only the regular stuff.

I'm not a big fan of WDW system but I do know I don't want to pay for them like at Universal.

.

We stayed at one of the Universal resorts (Cabana Bay), and you have the option to buy Express Pass, which means you go to the express pass line and go on every ride first. That is way better than the Disney Fast Pass system. When we do Universal again, we will go that same route. I don't know if you can buy the express pass without staying at their resorts, but maybe you can. Or, maybe you can with the Canadian package.

Sorry to hear it.

At least they gave it a good try. Sorry they didn't get farther.

I don't really want to pay, but I guess it's either pick a few in advance for free or pay for it and get them all. I can't see Disney or Universal coming up with a third option.

If I'm not mistaken, anyone can buy the Express Pass at Universal. But if you stay at one of their deluxe resorts, you get it free. Since Cabana bay is their value, you get no perks and you're just like the masses in regard to the Express Pass.

Afternoon chaps! Ribs and smores all done, homework complete and just chillin for the rest of the day.

Sorry to Declan, I'm sure he did great.

DLP did an option where you could pay 60 Euros a day, and basically walk onto all the fast pass lines. You also get it if you stay Castle Club at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris. They withdrew it, as the cost of 4 fast passes a day was the same as one annual pass.
I reminded her that you don't need to like or know the Avatar movie to appreciate the land, but she's on the fence.
This is me as well. Never seen avatar. We'll go in July but I'm not super excited to see it. I'll try and watch it before we go.
