DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
'Morning all...
Quiet 'round the office today. Everyone is using up the leftover vacation days.
Good thing... keeps 'em out of my hair.

Saw my spine doctor today. Things are generally better but my hands are still numb as if they're constantly asleep. He's going to have me see a colleague for an EMG so try and figure out if there is any nerve compression (or worse) or if its just a matter of needing more time. Well see how that goes.

What team is that Rob?
Carolina.
I discovered football in south Fla in about 1970 so there will always be a soft spot for the Phins, but I've lived just south of Charlotte since I was 14. Once we finally got our own team (and they immediate settled into a pattern of abject mediocrity), I just couldn't resist following them as well. Glutton for punishment, ya' know. About once a decade they foul-up and win a game or two.
Always surprises me when that happens.

Ummm, roasted squirrel. Better not tell Mike Huckabee or he will be over looking for dinner.
:lmao: And he's welcome to the varmint.

Computers are taking over the world.
Taking?
I do believe we may have traipsed just a mite farther on down the primrose path than that.

I say January 1, we start open discussion. Should give everyone a chance to see it over the weekend.
Yes Master... :darth:

Morning guys. Today should be a nice day with another attempt to break the record high. We decided to head to Key Largo to replace her old regulator with the new one. There is also a flea market with dive stuff going on that she wants to hit. I want to go to my favorite breakfast place for either Eggs Benedict or Huevos Rancheros. We also plan to stop at the Tiki Bar to say hi to a few friends. Maybe a stop at Sonny's BBQ for take out to watch tonight's bowl games. Looking forward to having some fun today.

Make it a good day guys.
A good plan all around.
BBQ sounds like a fine idea as well, may have to drop by and pick up some of the local Q.

Ok... I'll try to wait. I just deleted something I wrote but was going to hide behind a spoiler insert. I didn't want to tempt someone to accidentally click it when I started bashing one of the hims.
I suspect I can guess who y'all are on about.
Not all the performances in TFA were - shall we say - stellar.

At least the film as a whole is a generally fun ride.
It's been a while since that was the case for our beloved franchise.

Good luck with that Rob.
Didn't know the hands were still numb.
It's been what... a couple of months now?

Maybe it is just a coincidental onset of carpel tunnel? Hope it isn't anything too serious!

I don't know... I've actually got a couple of them in mind. One for performance reasons and the other for character reasons.

Thanks guys. It's been mightily "annoying" the whole time, that's for certain.
Carpel issues are a possibility, given my profession and ad-vocation, but the onset was instantaneous in both hands at the moment of impact. That seems more compelling to me, but that's also why we're going to go ahead and do the testing. Hope to get a clearer idea of what's happening here by the middle of next week.

I can see that as well. There were few plot holes and character... ummm... "inconsistencies", maybe.
Like any good escape, it's best not to dwell on the picky details too much.

Riiiiight... like we're not gonn'a be doin' that, I mean it's Star Wars for Peat's sake.

Wait... Are you counting me as a "regular poster"?

I need to get out more.

Ok, the second it is! As if we haven't discussed it on the secret facebook page enough already.

OK I've been to Star Wars Launch Pad a few times since it opened. But I really didn't know what I was looking at:confused3. Now that we have seen the movie,1st night 1st viewing 7pm Thurs. We had a crew of 24 to see Star Wars( and yes we dressed up I was Obi Ron Konobi :rotfl2:) we had 1st 2 rows but most importantly also had 3 active duty police in our group packing in our rows:thumbsup2 Now that we have seen the movie In less then 3 weeks we will understand much more what we are actually looking at when we return to the Launch Pad:thumbsup2

Overall a good day today. Ran into a couple of "friends" that were in a real Beverly mood. Wished them a Happy New Year and ran away. Stopped at the Holiday Inn and their Tiki Bar where another friend bartends. Started me off with a killer Mudslide. You are a good man Charlie Brown. The NJ hostage sat by the pool to soak up the sun. We also stopped at a farmers' market and found some beautiful strawberries and tomatoes. Going to drag the Ice Cream Maker out to make some ice cream. Using strawberries, not the tomatoes.

Did not know it was still a problem. Hope it goes away soon.

Carolina.

Not a fan of your QB. Meyer signed him to Florida but he decided to "borrow" a stranger's computer and was kicked off the team.

How about we start chatting about the movie on the 2nd?

I'm good with that.

I have always wondered what it would be like marching as a storm trooper during Star Wars Weekend. Looking forward to to seeing the Launch Pad.

Sounds like a pretty darned good day!

Then again, maybe tomato ice cream tastes really good.

'Morning all...
Trying to decide weather to work all of today and non of tomorrow, or only half of each.
Kind'a leaning toward option-b.

Either way it'd be nice if the rain would spot for a day or two.
It's been more Rain-Forest than Piedmont 'round here for too bloody long now.

Have fun searching for the droid...
I mean storming the castle...
Well... both actually.

They didn't consult me on that draft pick either. I find him to be right arrogant but he's started doing something rather surprising this year in particular this I really didn't expect... He's started learning. If he keeps doing that, he may be here a while (though I 'spect that the arrogance level may be a continuing distraction).

Open a shop selling nothing but tomato ice cream in a trendy spot in Brooklyn and you'll probably make a killing for a while.

Good morning. Just gotta get through today, half day tomorrow, 2 1/2 work days next week and then I'm Florida bound.

Morning Gents,

Publix sometime today. Making chicken wings for NY Eve and Ham NY Day. Of course Black Eyed Peas are a must for NY. Old Southern tradition is to eat black eyed peas NY Day. Other than that, college bowl mania the next three days.

Sounds like a pretty darned good day!

It was. Hoping to end 2015 on a high note.

Maybe I'll try it and let you know.

Good luck with the decision. It is wet up there. Talked to my friend in the UK and they are having similar problems in Northern England. Hope everyone dries out soon.

Can't argue with the results. Maybe he is growing up a bit.

@cj9200 we're going to be staying at All Star Sports 1/5 thru 1/13

A lot of us will be down there then. Meals and meet ups are planned. I will be in Epcot 1/6, MK 1/7, and DHS 1/8. Some of the guys will be in AK 1/6, Epcot 1/7, DHS 1/8, MK 1/9, 1/10, AK 1/11. Let me know if you are interested in joining up with us any of the days and I'll PM you specifics.

Good morning. Just gotta get through today, half day tomorrow, 2 1/2 work days next week and then I'm Florida bound.

Hope we get to run into each other sometime when you are not at the conference.

I won't have any park tickets until DW and DD meet up with me and we come back to the World on the 13th, but I do plan to try to meet up with everyone at the Boardwalk Friday and I'm planning to come to Ohana Saturday. That 5pm ADR is going to be tight for me... I might be a bit late so I just hope they save some meat for me.

We will probably see you Friday then. Not eating at Ohana (makes no sense since she is a veg. eater) but will make the pre meet before dinner at the pool bar or Tambu Lounge.

I pick option-c.
Sick <cough><cough> today off tomorrow.

 I like how you included "for a while".

Niiiiice.
All you people heading down at the same time...

I hate you all.
