DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Not until the 6th.

Having fun are we? What did you guys do for Christmas?

We check out on the 5th, missed by one day. We spent the day at MK. Got there at 8:30 and finally walked out at about 11:30. Took the day off from parks today to relax by the pool and enjoy the sunshine. We had lunch at BOG and dinner at Crystal Palace. Great day overall.

That is too bad, would have enjoyed an adult beverage with you.

At day of relaxation. Watched the UK UL basketball game, Premier League Match Sunderland beat Arsenal, and then went to see the new Star Wars movie today.

Good game, I thought UL was going to win.

I know. I'm in the Colts, Titans, Rams, Bears tv broadcast area. :furious: Colts were good with Manning & Luck.
At least you have the weather and pretty girls at the beaches.

Lose again. You kind of hope they lose the rest to get a better draft pick but I have no confidence this organization can make a decent pick. Among many failures was 2013 when they NOVED UP to pick Dion Jordon as the THIRD pick. Bad shoulder and played with limited results in 2013, in 2014 suspended 4 games to start the season and another 2 games for PEDs, suspended all of 2015 for repeated PED violations. The front office doesn't have a clue. Curious, do you have a favorite team?

Sad to see what happened to a once proud franchise. Glad I am more a college football fan.

I liked it. Loved her, hated him.

I enjoyed the movie a lot and I mostly agree with your assessment.

No spoilers. If you post on DDC in FB, someone will add you to the spoiler DDC FB closed groups about the new movie. There, you can post away.

Unfortunately, this is where the NFL is stinking it up and i am watching less. Miami did win the game yesterday, as the referee's once again made a wrong penalty call and took away a TD. They either have really long conferences and debates which slows the pace of the game, or the refuse to look at a call. Specific to Miami, the NFL also rigged it for the Dolphins to lose with that whole offensive line bullying thing, as they effectively made Miami lose two starting OL spots. In New Orleans, they made the coach skip the whole year as well as players part of the year. In New England, they "ahem" burned the Spygate tapes but didn't make any players, coaches, or GMs miss anytime.

'Morning all...
Hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays thus far.
Back to work was the order of the day for me, but it will be a shortened week (though not as short as the last one).

And the Dolphins give up the 4th Safety of the year!
From bad... to worse... to: "Really?"...
But like you, I've become accustomed to such results.
At least my other team is having a surprisingly decent season.

I liked it. Loved her, hated him.
Interesting...
Which him?

We did see it finally and were generally pleased. I'd like to catch it again in the theaters, but we'll see if the opportunity presents its self. Question... have we all decided upon a statute of limitations on open discussion?

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We had a good time, but man I'm tired. You'd think 4 days off would be relaxing, but I guess when you're going from one place to the next, then start over and repeat... it is just exhausting. Great to spend time with family but I need a 4 day weekend of not seeing anybody.

Yes, we got hit hard here earlier. Lots of rain, lightening, & thunder, but no tornados. You stay safe as well.
Well, we were ok here locally, but we're starting to see some flooding. I might have to go the long way home from work, because I normally drive through what is a flood plane for the Big Blue River. The river is expected to rise another 4' today and the water was almost to the road when I came in this morning.

My sister had a scare on Wednesday. We had a powerful storm move through late afternoon that brought strong straight line winds and heavy rain and dropped a few tornadoes. She is a vet tech and was at work. The vet she works for has a few different offices and they were working in a barn with block walls. She was giving a cat a shot when all of a sudden one of the stalls collapsed and the roof started coming down. They ran outside and by the time they got out the worst of the storm had passed. Nobody hurt, a wall fell on a car and the building, for the most part is still standing. They just lost one horse stall and a section of collapsed roof. It was an EF1 tornado.

Morning folks. Not sure what I'm doing today.... and that's just fine by me.

Yikes. Glad no one was hurt!

Hope everyone else is okay?

Well, here's a new one...

I just got a call from a friend who is a Sheriff's Deputy.

He asked if we still have a landline phone.

Well, we do. (Never use it, but it is in the package with our Internet and it really won't save us any money to get rid of it.)

He then asked if anyone was home.

Well, I'm at work, the kids are at the sitter and DW is at work... so no.

He told me he was standing on our front porch and it didn't appear that anyone was home or there was anything wrong, but they had a call to 911 from our phone number.

I told him our internet was down, our phone was full of static yesterday and they are supposed to come out and fix it today... not sure what the heck is going on. He told me they have that happen on occasion when water gets into the phone lines or something. Crazy though.

Haven't heard of anything other than property damage around this area.

We had pretty much the same thing happen to us a few weeks back
(911 calls, Sheriff on the porch, the whole nine-yards).

Having had our line inadvertently crossed with another one a couple years ago, I suspected there might be something similar going on and had the line maintenance folks come take a look. Turned out a squirrel had gnawed its way into a line junction box on the corner of our property and set up a winter nest. Likely causing all kinds of nuttiness on all the lines hitting that box. They replaced the junction and so far all's been quiet.

I'm sure that's probably what we're dealing with too. If it weren't for the unlimited bandwidth high speed internet, I'd get rid of our service and sever all ties with them. This will have been the 5th or 6th time this year that they've been out to our house because our phone and internet aren't working. They were out twice in 2 weeks this summer with loose connections in our junction box.

That is scary. Glad no one was hurt. More rain today and flooding. Some roads closed. Stay safe.

Never heard of that one before. At work, the Internet is always slow when it rains, and even stops working at times. I always said it was water in the lines as a joke. Hmmm...... :lmao:

That's pretty weird.
"Well, there's a storm, so maybe I'll just dial 911 automatically just in case."

Also finding myself watching the NFL less and less. There is no soul to the game anymore especially of you are a Phins fan. How the game ended was typical of this season.

What team is that Rob?

Wow, that is scary. At least with hurricanes, you get plenty of warning time. Glad everyone is safe.

Now that is funny. Annoying but funny.

Ummm, roasted squirrel. Better not tell Mike Huckabee or he will be over looking for dinner.

That's pretty weird.

Computers are taking over the world.

We did see it finally and were generally pleased. I'd like to catch it again in the theaters, but we'll see if the opportunity presents its self. Question... have we all decided upon a statute of limitations on open discussion?

I say January 1, we start open discussion. Should give everyone a chance to see it over the weekend.

Morning guys. Today should be a nice day with another attempt to break the record high. We decided to head to Key Largo to replace her old regulator with the new one. There is also a flea market with dive stuff going on that she wants to hit. I want to go to my favorite breakfast place for either Eggs Benedict or Huevos Rancheros. We also plan to stop at the Tiki Bar to say hi to a few friends. Maybe a stop at Sonny's BBQ for take out to watch tonight's bowl games. Looking forward to having some fun today.

Make it a good day guys.

I'm good with it unless someone seriously objects.

Ok... I'll try to wait. I just deleted something I wrote but was going to hide behind a spoiler insert. I didn't want to tempt someone to accidentally click it when I started bashing one of the hims.
