DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Merry Christmas guys!

Just hanging out at home today, went to my moms yesterday for supper and my inlaws this past Sunday.

Here is the carnage in the living room after presents...

Cooked breakfast this morning...

Working on dinner...

Merry Christmas to all and may your holiday find you happy healthy and free of domestic violence charges as a result of the family gathering.:santa:

Roast beast and the rest of the meal was consumed. The turkey came out exceptionally well, nice and moist. We were invited to the neighbor's house for dessert but I am begging off. I have fought turkey's sleep inducing effects for a while now but think I am about to be overcome.

Did my trifecta (+1) of favorite Christmas movies. It's a Wonderful Life last night, The Christmas Story this morning and currently watching the original The Bishop's Wife now. Saw Christmas Vacation a couple of days ago.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Christmas, I just want some sleep ownage

Merry Christmas guys! DD and I had an awesome Christmas, Disneywise Santa brought a ton of Frozen stuff including a Frozen bike and Disney Infinity 2.0!

For any Dads out there on the fence about "The Interview" just finished watching it online. Besides not being the best thing to watch on Christmas! It was hilarious!!! If you enjoy crude humour, like I do from time to time, you will love it.

Christmas dinner #3 is in the books. I made our turkey, stuffed it and covered the breasts in bacon, this keeps them nice and moist. Smashed potatoes, stuffing, steamed broccoli and cauliflower served with a homemade cheeses sauce, oven roasted sweet potatoes, perogies and homemade gravy. Quite a feast for 4 of us. We definitely have left overs.

My couch is calling... Time to watch some tv or have the tv watch me, whichever happens, I'm good with

Morning guys,

Turkey induced coma last night meant I slept really well. Nothing on the agenda today except some post Christmas clean up. Well that and some football and open faced turkey sandwiches with lots of gravy. Did I mention the turkey came out perfect this year?

According to what I saw posted yesterday, a good number of festivities were enjoyed. Happy Boxing Day and Carpe Diem gentlemen.

Morning all. My version of the four Christmases have past, and weren't as funny or horrific as those in the Vince Vaughn movie. Still, I think Brian (Middlepat) was the smartest by having his Christmas in Hawaii. Back to the real world.

Merry Christmas to all and may your holiday find you happy healthy and free of domestic violence charges as a result of the family gathering.:santa:

Family domestic violence charges? You NJ folks sound like you're in KY. :lmao:

Is it the turkey or quantity of the turkey? You may have discovered a solution to your insomnia -excess insulin. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great meal. I had pistachio nuts and cognac for dinner.

How early did your dd wake you? Mine finally woke us up around 7:00 AM. I told them no gifts before 7, which means they probably were up around 5 and just waited until 7 to start making noises to wake us up. :lmao:

As for the interview, I'll see it one day on Netflix. I wondered if this whole thing was just a big publicity stunt.

Norm, I was thinking the same thing, now how many people want to see it for the "what's all the fuss about" factor? For $6 people can stream it on their home computer/TV so since people don't have to leave the house to sit in a crowded theatre, more people will see it

Top O the Morning Dads! Very nice Christmas here with no drama. Nice Eve at Church and then to IL's for our traditional low key night with everyone's favorite finger foods. Yesterday me and DD were up at 5:00 but did not give the kids the signal to come down for gifts until about 6:30. We then had IL's and DD boyfriend over for Christmas breakfast and gift exchange round 2. Dinner was both ham and Turkey with all the sides. DS and I are still in food comma but are gonna head out later to see the Hobbit. Everyone enjoy the rest of the Holiday time.

Morning, men. Happy Boxing Day to our friends up North.
I hope everyone is enjoying the post Christmas day. My goal today is to simply reduce my caloric intake to around 4,000 today! Aside from that, we have no plans. DW works from 2-9 but otherwise a laid back day.

Nice to see everyone had a great Christmas!!!

DW had to work today so I'm home with the 3 knuckleheads fighting over each others presents. :headache:

Also I had a head cold move in yesterday and I have a serious headache. :headache:

I don't think I'd suggest using those pictures to advertise your services... :rolleyes1
No... not at all. The party was sad.... worst job of the entire year for me. My other Christmas parties were really good. I'd rather be DJing a wedding though.

I think we ALL know what picture he uses to advertise his services.....:lmao: ;)
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That would probably get me some interesting jobs. :rolleyes1

Quality and quantity. Anticipating lunch and turkey sandwiches, then maybe a nap.

Must be a buzz going around in Kentucky with UK/UL playing today. Looking forward to a good game. A late friend of mine was a staunch UL fan and HATED Kentucky. If I had some bourbon in the house I would do a toast to him. So UK or UL?

EDUTED: Misread ESPN, the game is tomorrow.

Howdy all…
I see from the commentary that Christmas was pretty much joyful and successful all around. Our family morning went very well indeed and the evening gathering and dinner with DWs mom and sis was memorable as well. Currently get a cauldron of Carnitas simmering away on the stove and selected brews a chillin’ in preparation for my family to arrive this afternoon. Looking forward to a fine round two of holiday cheer.

Best wishes to all during the remainder of the holiday season and wishes for a wondrous new year to all

It's really UK against the rest of the country this year. The old joke is that a college team could never beat a pro team, because as bad as a pro team is (like the 76ers), they are all pro players. UK really has all pro players in two waves of players. They only lack the age, conditioning, & experience of playing 82 games a season. But, they are amazing to watch.

UL has a small chance, being a rival game and at Yum! Center, but it is only a small chance.

My meals starting with Christmas eve until now have consisted of ham or breakfast casserole. I think there may be ONE more ham meal left.

Congrats on surviving what probably seemed like your Christmas decathlon. My girls were so wound up Christmas eve that they completely shut down when we got home from the in-laws. They got DW and I up around 7:45.

Lots of fun watching them open and enjoy their gifts.
