DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
So, last HS tennis match of season. The other teams coach decides to cheat and drop her #1 player to #4 spot, where she plays my daughter. This is same coach who last year, when these two played each other, cheated and changed their 3rd set tiebreaker score. Tonight, revenge was served as my daughter beat her #1 player. The coach and player were mad. I was thrilled.

Hey Guys!

36 days until I'm back at the World, not that I'm counting or anything.

Looks like DS will be staying in his college town for the Summer, but we will be going down to see him in a couple of weeks anyway. Good thing about college town being a beach town, it's not a bad visit.

DW had a job interview yesterday, she felt really good about it. It would be a lot less stress, so would make my life easier :)

Ugh, that's not good. Hopefully it's starting to clear

Yes, she's doing better, thanks. Son in the beach college town and wife out working? Sounds like two good things for some freedom. Good luck to her.

Yay for DS!! That's a great outcome for her!

'Morning all...
Every time I think things are going to start slowing down a bit, life starts getting all jammed up again.
(and costing more money)

Well, enough complaining; ain't the only one 'round here that has issues, now am I?
(my home town ain't currently flooding, for instance)

So, what's up with y'all?

Well, Monday was short. Youngest dd found some old chapstix from who knows when in the bottom of a drawer, applied it to her lips, and had an allergic reaction. She had permanent selfie duck lips. :lmao: Benadryl, Claritin, ibuprofen, and Vaseline have been her friend.
I do feel bad for her, here (but it was hard not to snicker just a little bit).
Glad she's doing better.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hollywood Studios opened on this day back in 1989. That is all.
And at times I still refer to the place as MGM...
Wonder what they'll be changing the name to next?

So...
Really maybe?

DW had a job interview yesterday, she felt really good about it. It would be a lot less stress, so would make my life easier :)
Wish her well.
Less stress is hard to beat.
Had to encourage my missus to walk away from a couple of employers over the years.
The hits we took to our bottom line were far out weighed by the emotional improvements

Speed these countdown clocks up I say,
Now, now...
don't be wishing our lives away.
May it seem like time is moving quicker for you for the next few weeks.
(Lord knows, that once you actually get down there, it will start flying by at Ludicrous Speed.

"You know what...
This makes me very happy."

Good job on a tougher win for your young'en.
Folks that game the system (whichever system it may be) usually end up winning, so it's nice to see them get bit back every once in a while.

Morning compadres, from a drizzly London, which has put a right nix in the landscaping (which has kept me off here), as all the decking and the new shed were delivered today, and I can't get out there. Darcy hope you're all ok from the floods mate.

I was thrilled.
Good job to the nipper there Norm....always nice to think that cheats never prosper, but that's unfortunately not the case...

105 for me, there will have to be a cheeky Paris jaunt before then. Good luck to the missus on the job thing

All this time I didn't know I was talking to Randy Jackson. Who knew?

Have a good hump day boys, from the mother country.

Top O the Mornin Dads! 62 Days 'til we start our 12 night DCL/WDW family get together/DS 21st bday celebration. Yea, I'm not thinking about it too much - need a break from the routine as the job has been more of a grind YTD than past several years. Almost at half way point for the week. Be safe out there.

About the same as you though the weather getting nicer and DS being home for the summer helps with the 7:00-6:00 Mon-Fri nonsense. How's your young man doin these days?

That's a good question. Have debated with DS a bit and can't come up with anything that we think sticks as it is gonna be a be of hodge podge of lands. You got any thoughts?

Thanks for dropping in, hope all is well. You haven't called it in a bit so don't let us down in a couple of days:thumbsup2

Happy Wednesday. Sitting on muted phone conference. :headache:

Thanks.

Awesome outcome. Nicely done by your daughter!

That's awesome. Nice to know the good guys win once in a while.

Really nice day here so later I will be out on the patio.

Good luck on DW's interview. Can't for the life of me understand why DS would want to stay in a beach town all summer.

Best way to attend a phone conference.

Hey Paul.

How's your young man doin these days?
:sad2:
Was gonn'a plead the fifth on that one, but it's a fair question, so...

Seems he's gonn'a end up two classes short (longish story), so we won't be headed up for the graduation proceedings on the 12th as planned. Now, one of these classes he can deal with this summer on-line.
The other one...
That will have to be on campus next semester, so now we're looking at a December graduation.
Which also means, more tuition and expenses. Upside: at only one class, the total outlay to the university for the fall semester will be a considerable bit less. Down side: it won't be zero, and you can't rent an apartment (or even a dog house) for less than a full year. Additionally, as a "part-time" student, the loans in his name immediately come due. Now we were expecting that, but not on top of the additional tuition, rent and expenses.

You may all now begin insulting me for being a failure as a parent...

That's a good question. Have debated with DS a bit and can't come up with anything that we think sticks as it is gonna be a be of hodge podge of lands. You got any thoughts?
LeftoverLand?
Not a clue what - if anything - they'll do with the name.
Nothing obvious makes any real sense.

Sitting on muted phone conference. :headache:
Is there any other kind?
Yep...
There's the kind where you're the one that has to answer the questions
(and be threatened because the facts don't match the overlord's desires)

Maybe Really!
Well that unequivocally settles the question.
Sort'a...

You know what they say, "Cheetahs never prosper."
No, they tend more toward the kill and devour side of the spectrum.

I'm so far away from my next trip, don't even have a countdown clock yet.
This...
Unless something changes it'll be better than a year at best, and likely longer.
Here's hoping for some change (and preferable positive rather than negative).

Hey Paul.

Hey Mr Belding! Say, was your DW down in Disney and left you home with the kids?

about a week and a half ago, yes. She went down with a group of ladies and ran the dark side half marathon. She also hit up the parks and had a ton of fun while I stayed at home and raised our children. Total and absolute crap if you ask me.

253 days?

You made me count and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Going in October to celebrate my birthday at F&W. 152 and counting.

Well, I had grits on vacation. So that's a thing I won't be doing again.

I could have told you not to eat that but you didn't ask.

I agree, total crap. Now you can go in January and feel guilt free. Not that you suffered any guilt before.
