DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one out of the ESPN Zone on Sunday gets to take Giselle Bunchen home. And let me tell ya, she'll let you do to her what the Eagles are gonna do to the Pats on Sunday. I'll let you fill in your own punchline, depending on your affiliation.

So she won't let you do anything??

No, you'll make a good showing for a fair portion of the action and then Brady will step up and finish off in the last 2 minutes.

I'll be on FB on Sunday.

Hi!
I am trying to be better about being involved on this board. I realized how little i know about everyone when I was at the DisDad convention in January.

So, if ya'll could just comment less often, it would make the board easier to keep up with.

And now, a WDW question:

i'm looking at possibly renting a DVC studio at OKW with another couples friends. So, we'd be 4 adults in an OKW studio.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where or why i should request anything specific for any reason?
as in "building 4 is good because it's close to the parking lot" or "avoid building 22 because it's by the pool, and the pool is loud."

I appreciate you all's input.

P.S. I picked OKW because the studio has 2 real beds. Is that the best DVC choice?

Thanks for the support! I feel like the commercials have been lousy the last few years. Is that just me? In my view, they've never topped the Reebok Office Linebacker.
You're most welcome! Mostly because who it's against, but also supporting a good guy's team. Your's too. :lmao:
Terry Tate, office linebacker. Fantastic!
Others I've really liked - b*tt wiper (the nasty Clydsedale beer) frogs.
Years ago a Pepsi commercial where the kid sucks so hard on the straw, he sucks himself into the bottle. Sister picks up the bottle and yells Mom, he done it again!
Don't remember who it was for (happens with many commercials...I remember the commercial is funny, but not what product it's for)...Guy had a little mini motorcycle and carries it under his arm to the start line. Other side is a top fuel dragster. They line up and dragster smokes him, but blows an engine. Then they show him with the little tiny motor whining passing the dragster.

Oh yeah, the so easy a caveman could do it commercials were good. Not sure if those were superbowl commercials or not.

My parents gave me Disney stock as a gift many moons ago when I graduated from high school. I got a really cool certificate covered in Disney characters. Still have it, too. I had read that they had done away with it but then may have brought it back as a special-order type thing, for those that really wanted to have it. I would need to research that to confirm, though.
I didn't get that, but I haven't requested it either.

I've been to OKW a few times and I'm not sure if the studios are in the same place as the 2 BR villas that we always got. I would recommend not getting too close to the pool for exactly the reason you mentioned. Ours was through the main gate, across the bridge and then on the right. Close to main building, pool and bus stops, so we liked it.

Not going to a Super bowl party this year. Just staying home to watch the game. What is everyone else planning to do?
In Chattanooga spending the weekend with DS - just got here about an hour ago. We will likely hit the local sports bar and hang for a bit with traditional sports pub food and beer.
Seems like most of you guys have Disney stock. I don't have any. I read that they used to send out a nice certificate when you bought a share, but they stopped doing that. Any idea if that's the case now?
In true Disney fashion, only if you want to pay extra for said certificate..........................

yeah, we need to break free of the princesses. I think we've pretty much gone through the lot. It's time to move to topic of the week. enjoy the weekend with the boy.

Going to Mass. Been invited to a party afterwards.

TGIF gentlemen, for those who still have their feet to the grindstone, that is. I had one of my employees quit on me this week, so it's been a week of getting job postings up, looking at resumes, talking to HR, etc. I'm ready for a drink tonight.
me to :P

I'm available for a highly paid, do nothing, telecommuting job. I can start today.

Scottish Rum? That doesn't sound right.

-.

I thought the same thing. But it's still alcohol, so I let it go.

Thinking you have never tried air fried food...

Why would you? Deep fat fried is the way to go. Yum.

?

I thought of two - "give her a beat down" or "she'll be fixed". Neither sounds appealing.

Happy Friday. A long day at work. HS tennis meeting with new coach. Not sure he knows what he is doing. First year teacher & coach. I offered to help with the team. Who knows.

For your request, yes, OKW gives you two queen beds in DVC, and some extra large living space. I'm trying to remember the bathrooms and kitchen space at OKW studio. I was thinking the sinks were out in the living space with the seperate bathroom vs some of the newer ones like AKV that have a seperate shower, toilet, etc. Poly has two bathrooms (one toilet), but the sleeper couch. I have slept on those sleeper couches before though, and they have been very comfortable.

I like the main house (Hospitality House I think?) is the best for getting you dropped off at the first bus stop, dining options, feature pool, and boat launch. DW likes the turtle creek area and it has a quiet pool with QS.

I didn't get that, but I haven't requested it either.

Yes, I got the stock certificate framed with the Disney characters on it. All the dividend checks on my one share of Disney stock over the rest of my life may pay it off. :lmao:

!

Saw your picture on FB. Looked like you were having fun. Enjoy.

It was Paul Newman in an ad for American Express.

Yep, that's the one. I laughed so hard the first time I saw that.

Thanks CJ...All the search terms I was putting came up with bumpkus. I didn't recall it was Paul Newman and as previously mentioned, I sure didn't remember in was AMEX
