Didn't realize Fort Lauderdale was such a long drive.

I live in South Dade and it takes about 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic.

PP is only driving to Ft Lauderdale. But she is talking to her professor and coordinating her project IN S. America... It's like N. America, only South...

The professor teaches 1 day a week and since they are on break, she suggested she stay overnight at her house and talk about the project. Earlier this year, as part of her class, the Cousteau Society asked them to submit proposals to improve a nature preserve in Nicaragua. The Pirate Princess' proposal was chosen. They gave her $4,000 to implement it. The good news is she gets to go to Nicaragua 1 or 2 times, the bad news is that it is kind of a big deal and she wants it to go well.

I am curious, are you going out or staying home for New Year's Eve?

Jodi and I will be staying home and streaming this...

We never (well almost never) go out because we don't want to be out with the drunks, so this is a GREAT alternative. Thanks Randall!!!

We pretty much always stay in, sometimes have friends over. Come on up if you want.

Got it. At that age, mine was more into stuffed animals than dolls. She had bunk beds and the top bed was full of the buggers, almost to the roof.

Was going to leave on Tuesday but she has a friend flying in at about 1:00 am on Wednesday that she isn't going to see for a while. She wants to pick her up and go out for a bit. That means she will be useless driving up. Her logic, "Well, we won't need a hotel Tuesday night."

Morning Boys from a rainy London. The kids are going to Panto today with my mum, so we were going to Borough market, which is a foodie hotspot, but it all open air, so the rain has pretty much nixed that. Coming up with a Plan B right now.

Why do they do this? I didn't have sisters, so this is completely alien to me. I mean, I get why ladies are much more fun to play with without accoutrements, but they just get de-clothed and left on the floor. This seems less than chivalrous.

What's Panto?

It's a Theatre production that is loosely based on a kids story like Jack and the Beanstalk or Beauty and the Beast. The common thread it has to have a Dame, which is a bloke dressed in the secondary female character. All good cross dressing fun for the family. Often the gender roles are swapped through the production. Its all very camp and fun. I hate it.
