DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Oldest DD turned 17 today. Hard to believe. I actually got a bit emotional thinking about it today. A little over a year from now and she'll be thinking about going off to university. Crazy.
.

Not sure how I missed it. Happy Birthday to dd.

Definitely a five-pinter.

Sitting in the Starbucks to dry out a bit, it's caning it down here, but hey, we're in Disney.

I've been watching the Great British Baking show in attempt to learn how to translate your posts. Once again, i'm lost. "It's caning it down here"? Does that mean the rain is spanking you?. :lmao:

At least you'd go with a smile on your face......

::yes::

Hey guys, just checking in. Happy Saturday. For those visiting Disney, enjoy.

 CJ. Did Florida hold on to win? UK & UL both won.

You're not complaining about an extra day at DaWorld are you?

!

Just complaining about paying for it, and more importantly, about not following the budget.

Morning all.
Just another flippin' busy day.

That is all.

GBBO is a true reflection of growing up in East Ham in London. We couldn't move for Victoria sponges, and lightly dusted scones. It must be working though, because "caning it" does mean raining hard. It also means speeding, weirdly. So you could say "It was caning it while I was caning it down the A1".

Make sure you call it at the Poly so you can buy me a Lapu Lapu
Drinking a fruit based cocktail whilst wearing the budgie smugglers can only add to our manliness. The ladies of the Poly won't know what hit 'em.

Bon voyage. Enjoy your trip. Just curious, does driving a British car on French roads mess you up, since it's all backwards?
Not really mate, as its mostly motorway so, its OK. How's life in Newfoundland. Did DD have a "Birthday week", like my DW does?

Back from Disney, managed to sweet talk the Annual pass lady into renewing our passes early. She gave us the 6 months free and started it on the day after our old passes expire, so we are covered until December 2018. Now Disney have taken over DLP, the passes double in price on Mar 29. Might go and wind up the Paris board with the "Disney doesn't owe you a holiday" argument.

Highlights - new BTMRR is awesome, I took DS on it, and he loved it. It also really completes Frontierland, which is pretty much which I think Marc Davies wanted to do in Florida. I think DS is gonna be up for Space Mountain as soon as he's tall enough. This is how we get him to eat broccoli. DD met Moana this morning, so she was happy. All in all a good one, and a good test for the "Friday Night to Sunday" model. Hopefully this means we can get there a bit more often this year.

Enough rambling, have a great Sunday all

Happy Sunday everyone. I get to put in 5 hours or so of work on Sunday now as a part of the new job. It does mess with some of the family time, but my dds sleep in late on most every Sunday morning, so not too bad. You all have a great day.

YUUUP!!!

I wouldn't have gotten the speeding reference. I only got the other as I dated a girl in college who read books on British caning and wanted to act out things. Don't judge, beer was involved. :lmao: I'm not sure why I like the Great British Baking show so much, but I've got it tagged on Netflix make the family watch it with me.

But, holding those massive pineapples with little fu fu umbrellas makes us look ..... Yeah, I see you point. :lmao:

No but she had "two birthdays", one with the family the day before her actual birthday, and then the next day she was out to dinner with the boyfriend, because apparently those two groups of people cannot mix when you're 17.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hope all had a good weekend. It's the last Monday before vacation so let's get these 5 days moving! Hope the guys down there now are having a blast.

You had to go there again with the budgie smugglers :scared1: Good to hear you had a good time at DLP and that DS was able to hit a "big ride".

Now you're getting it :thumbsup2

Happy Monday. Made it to the gym this morning and to job #1. All work completed.

We have had multiple birthday celebrations for years. DW wants to go out to eat on actual birthday, weekend before, and then the family gathering birthdays. Thankfully, the family gathering birthdays and giving away gift bag stage has ended.

That will make a great picture, right Mike? :lmao:

Is this the same girl as Jeff was seeing?
I'm not sure why I like the Great British Baking show so much
Its because it's nice. No-one is being made fun of/exploited/part of a carnival, its just.................nice.

::yes::

Off to see West Ham get done over by Chelski, I see a Shake Shack in my very near future. Have a good evening boys, Mike, you are now 1 day closer.

Mmmm...Shake Shack. We just had one open near us. I'd never tried it before, but I loved the food. The prices, not so much. But the food was good.
It's good stuff. I'd rather pay inflated price for a good burger than a bad one in the stadium

And the commentator used the phrase 'budgie smugglers' on the show in reference to Paul. I'm starting to understand British English. :lmao:

Yeah, but nothing like a hot dog and a beer at an outdoor a baseball game. Not sure why, even though it is way overpriced. Must be the memories.

Don't know. Was she as good at caning as she was at snowblowing?

Never had her snowblowing, but she did.... Wait a minute...... :scared1::eek::scared1:

:lmao:

Agreed. Baseballs pace is also much more suited to snackage opportunities. And at football we are not allowed to drink in the stands due to our predeliction for "opening a can of whoop a$$" on each other, to borrow an American phrase.

Happy Tuesday. Played tennis last night and went to the gym this morning. That was a difficult 12 hour turn around, but I made it thru. Made it to the office and all the work is done until 12 for a teleconference, which means phone on mute while we listen to the teacher from Charlie Brown "wa wa wa wa wa". Hope you all have a more productive day.

Oh, there's alcohol. We're just not allowed to sit and drink it in the stands. We can drink it the concourse, but not if we are looking at the game. So it's a really effective law.....:rolleyes1

Hope your day gets better mate

Top O the Mornin Dads! 1 down and only 4 more to go. Starting to layout packing for the trip as I have to go from Orlando at end of vacation to Switzerland for a week long business trip so have to pack for a couple of weeks of travel. Have a good one.

:thumbsup2 Agree and also think it's the memories as a kid when going to the ballpark with your dad meant something.
