DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Another morning mostly shot so decided to delay starting anything until after lunch. I took DD to the physician because she sprained her ankle and they insisted on x-rays. Sprained as I suspected so an additional expense for no reason. I did get her something for the cold that has been hanging on for three weeks so not a complete waste. School is closing tomorrow as well and joining the surrounding schools. There seems to be less illness around here when winter sucks. This year was the warmest on record, though the electric bill doesn't show it, and more schools have closed for longer periods of time for illness then before.
Sorry to hear about both the ankle and the sickness going around. I think a good freeze helps kill a lot of the crap in the air and without it this year ...................
Happy Thursday. Not much new going on for me. In this case, boring is kinda nice. We have a school "professional day" tomorrow, which means no school for dds. If only I had a DLP close by.....
No kidding

At the price you paid for all those Disney cruises, they should give you a freebie. I hope to get one one of those cruises eventually.
Didn't always cost what they do today. When the kids were young and mom wanted a break from the parks we took advantage of the land/sea packages they used to do so we could hit the parks for a few days and then cruise for a few days. DCL does do a great job but I think there will be a break between this one and our next due to pricing.

I realized I'm a day late with my annual health reminder, but March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. A first screening is recommended at age 50 if you have no risk factors and the colonoscopy is the gold standard. If you don't do it for yourself, do it for your loved ones. Colon cancer is survivable if caught early.

My doctor has insisted on a chest x-ray as a part of my annual physical now for over a decade. I continue to tell him my insurance doesn't cover it and i don't do the x-ray. But, when it comes to the kids, we still do those extra things. I'm not sure why.

Anyway, I hope she recovers quickly.

Thanks. It is easy for MDs to tell us what we need to do, but then they aren't the ones paying the bills.

Hope she's OK mate, all the best.

Thanks gentlemen. She is improving.

But then you'd have to speak Cockney. Or French. And use U in your words.

I did take high school French, so I'm good to go. :lmao:

DW did a Carnival cruise and it was cheaper. I'm sure I'll fork over the cash for DCL one day.

.

And in Kentucky, MD = god. I've encountered too many that thought they could walk on water. I have had the same one for past 15 years, and he's a good one.

Happy Friday all, and happy DISday to Darcy and Mal.

Just a little disappointed that you didn't take high school cockney, but I'll get over it. C'est la vie. Have a good day off mate.

Drinking arms at the ready boys, its looking good to call it in a couple of hours, then the drive to DLP.

That's it boys. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. See you in Le Bar at 10. Last one there has to take Drizella home. And let me tell you, she don't take no for an answer.

Hello gents! To Darcy & Mal, safe travels and have a blast, try not to mess the place up before I get there.

That would be be 4:00 local time so gonna be about an hour late and ain't taken Drizella home 'cause let me tell you, DW don;t work well with no either. Enjoy your DLP trip.

Happy Friday. We had snow today! Not enough for any accumulation as it melted immediately on the roads, but it looked pretty this AM in the front yard. Last weekend was in the 70s and snow today. Yup, welcome to KY weather where everyone is sick. The dds already had a school "professional" day, so they enjoyed the day off. I think the snow melted before they woke up.

So glad you called it. Make sure you call it at the Poly so you can buy me a Lapu Lapu. And, I would totally take Drizella home, if only I weren't married. Now, it would result in a double homicide.

Evening Guys.

Officially started vacation today. Started the day taking our cat to my parents place for the week. He sure enjoyed that 2 hour drive.

Pretty much pack and ready to go. Hit the road in the morning and our flight to MCO is tomorrow evening. Try to keep the place neat and tidy while I'm gone.

Oldest DD turned 17 today. Hard to believe. I actually got a bit emotional thinking about it today. A little over a year from now and she'll be thinking about going off to university. Crazy.

Bon voyage. Enjoy your trip. Just curious, does driving a British car on French roads mess you up, since it's all backwards?

Wow, that's a crazy temperature swing. We've been having milder temperatures (well, just above freezing) and rain all week so our snow piles are slowly getting cut down. Still have ways to go before I see grass again.

Have a good one Darcy. You too, Mal. We'll try not to stink the place up too much while you're gone. Keep us posted on your adventures if you can.

Beer goggles....

Happy Saturday. Tennis this morning for me, swim for oldest dd, and church pictures this afternoon. No soccer game on local TV today.

And, in other news, DW decided she wanted an extra day at WDW this Spring Break. So, she called an added an extra day. Good thing I have this 2nd job as the vacation budget seems to be exploding. :scared1:

Beer goggles....

Admittedly, those are the best pictures and were taken with bad cell phones from years ago. The top one is 5 years old and the top one closer to 10 years? From my recollection, Drizella was hot.

Hey guys, just checking in. Happy Saturday. For those visiting Disney, enjoy.

One week exactly and at this time will be at Trader Sams at the Poly with some type of tropical concoction before dinner at Kona. Again, safe travels and enjoy Disney Darcy, Mal and Don.

Hang in there from a guy who's been there and who'sDDwill be married in 90 days. Hug her, enjoy all the precious moments you have with her and don't sweat the small stuff :thumbsup2

You're not complaining about an extra day at DaWorld are you?
Definitely a five-pinter.

Sitting in the Starbucks to dry out a bit, it's caning it down here, but hey, we're in Disney.
Enjoy!
