DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Good morning from the land of football purgatory. That ball boy is clearly losing his job!:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Continued prayers to those in need!

I can try to explain this to you again, but we haven't been 10 miles apart for the last 9 months... More like 50 miles. But if you want to drive the hour and a half down here for lunch, I'm happy to buy! :thumbsup2

You know I don't do anything else all day. Of course I can drive the 50 miles just to have lunch.:thumbsup2 Ok, remind me again where you are. I have to drive around the state a couple times a month to deal with local customers/supplier issues anyway. We could plan on one of those days maybe.

I just hate living in essentially Pats territory. They are all I hear about. I am so sick of having Belichick on the news nightly saying nothing. :badpc:

2 states away? I can be in the Meadowlands quicker than getting to Foxborough.

I get it. It is comical after a while to listen to them keep trying to get an different answer. I do have to say that the Giants are not one of my favorite teams for obvious reasons. With the stupid football stuff, it will go on all offseason as well around here. Not apologizing, making excuses or any other defense of the football stuff, but isn't this whole thing on the officials? They weigh them, they have them between every play and they are responsible for rule violations. I am fine with the Goodell dishing out whatever discipline he likes, but the officials better be included in that. (And I still think every team manipulates the ball in some way, it's only because it's the Patriots that it's an issue. We have kicking balls, each team uses their own when on offense, etc.... Why not just have the league supply game balls and be done. There is obviously an acceptance that the balls are being manipulated.)

Morning guys. Ran the numbers for our 80% certain trip in May. It will cost more for 3 day tickets than it will for a DVC rental. I don't want any more days than that because I know some of my kids will be over stimulated.

We have started to limit park days to 4 on a 7 day trip to allow for more rest and relaxation. 80% certain is like almost 100%.:rotfl2: Hope it all works out and you have a great trip. Buy the tickets now, I'm sure the prices will be going up again soon.

Morning guys!

Lol... I get it. But the last 2 SB losses to your team have been tough to swallow. Can't you guys just let us deflate balls and tape signals in peace?:lmao:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

While completing my prior post, I finally got an order that we have been working on for three months. It's the first of two, but the commission on the order will pay for the August trip.:thumbsup2 It's really stressful dealing with some of these customers, but it's worth it when they end up ordering.

The second order, if it comes (been told it's guaranteed, but they are waiting for their customer to provide something) is actually more than 2x this one. Hopefully it comes through soon.

Morning guys!

Morning David. 80% is good odds! Which resort are you looking to stay at?

Kidani. The kids love animals and it gives some options for the non park days!

Morning, David. Wrong approach. Over stimulation=indoctrination.
:lmao::rotfl2:

I totally understand you. It's kind of like dipping your toe in the pool, then wading into the shallow end before getting in completely. You don;t want to take the Carl Finsel Polar Plunge approach with the kiddos (just yet).

You can always spend more time at the resorts, DTD and those types of places and dial back on the Parks. Just a thought.

That's the plan. One day in, then a day off. If my plan comes together, we will do the dining plan, so our days off will be exploring other resorts and DTD. Of course once my kids hit the buffets, there may no longer be a dining plan :lmao:

‘Morning all…
First, a general wish of pixy dust, beer and bacon for all.
Well… all except for the yutz in IL that hacked our credit card twice last night. Our carrier caught one of them quickly and denied the purchase. The other attempt was successful but has been dropped off our pending charges. They locked the account number and we should have new cards on our doorstep tomorrow morning. That is actually quite good as customer service goes, but the frustrating thing is that this is the fifth time in three years that we’ve had to dance this jig and the second time in the last six weeks. The rate at which CC numbers are stolen is appalling. If you don’t already check your accounts regularly, I’d advise you consider making it a habit.

Well that’s enough of my whining…
What’ch y’all up to?

TMI. But, whatever you're into brother is all good.

:lmao: What I’m into is continued employment.
That means you have to take the beatings from time to time.

Feel bad for ya, having to come here for a sanity check I mean.

:rotfl2: Agreed… but then again, this actually -is- the sanest place I know of.

I almost took a job in Florence when I got done with undergrad. I decided it was too hot, too slow and people were too nice. I would have been the yankee that everyone hated!:lmao:
My dad was bummed. He always focused on any future destination's proximity to beaches.
Hot and slow are certainly valid description of the Carolinas. That too nice thing is an illusion though, believe me. Folks ‘round here are quick to say howdy or offer up a bit of hospitality, but with a wink and a nod they also generally believe that concentration camps are a fine idea (so long as they get to decide who gets tossed into one). As for being “That Yankee”, heck, the pure bloods hate everybody and better than half the population is transplanted from elsewhere anyway. You’d have fit in just fine.

Florence is certainly closer to the coast than I am but its best asset is being situated smack on I-95.
As such… WDW is only one left and two right turns to the south. ;)

Morning guys. Ran the numbers for our 80% certain trip in May. It will cost more for 3 day tickets than it will for a DVC rental. I don't want any more days than that because I know some of my kids will be over stimulated.

And you have quite the large group to acquire tickets for as well.
You can get a lot done in three park days though, just pick you battles and agree up front that since you know you’ll be back sometime in the near, it’s ok to miss a couple of things.

Lol... I get it. But the last 2 SB losses to your team have been tough to swallow. Can't you guys just let us deflate balls and tape signals in peace?:lmao:

That ball boy is clearly losing his job!:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Well, someone’s gott’a take the fall :rotfl2:

Not apologizing, making excuses or any other defense of the football stuff, but isn't this whole thing on the officials?

Ummm… isn't that a little bit like someone arguing a DUI conviction by telling the judge that it was the cop's fault that he knocked back that twelfth beer? :lmao:

That is excellent news.
Congrats on the commission and the work it took to bring it in.
If the first one will pay for your August trip I’m interested in seeing what windfall that second one may bring your way. :thumbsup2

Hump Day Ownage!

With regards to the official, no it's not the same. It's not the cop's responsibility to stop you from drinking and he is certainly not passing you the drink after tasting to make sure there is enough alcohol in there. It is however the officials job to make sure the equipment being used is to specifications and has the ball in his hands prior to each play of the game. If a linebacker can tell the ball is not heavy enough, I'm sure the official should be expected to tell as well.

As with all funds entering the bank account, you would have to ask DW where we will be spending it.:rotfl2::rotfl2: I have been told that I cannot be trusted (see DD birthday trip at CR).:rolleyes1

Morning Guys.

Paul and Jim, there is a rumour that the Winter Classic could be the Bruins and Habs at Gillette. If we don't head south for Christmas next year, I could see a possible road trip to Boston in the future.

Ashland... We could meet up one of the these weekends though. Pizza and beer? :confused3

Sounds like it could be enough to convince you to book a DDCC4 trip? :confused3

Kidani. The kids love animals and it gives some options for the non park days!

Perfect resort for that! We want to go back there for a vacation where we only do the parks a few days so that we can enjoy the resort. Sounds awesome!

They announced it here as 98% happening. Would love to meet up, even at that game if we could all get tickets.

One warning if you do come though, the Bruins, being from Boston, have been known to tamper with the pucks they use. They also illegally tape the opposing players in the penalty box.

Scumbags.

It is a done deal from my understanding. I am hoping that they offer Patriots season ticket holders the chance to buy tickets before public sales. If that happens, I'll be buying as many tickets as I can and will let you know. Sounds like a good way to get some of us together around the holidays.

A weekend would work. Would have to plan around hoop games, but shouldn't be too hard.

The $$ is usually the least important barrier preventing me from going to DDCC. It's the mid-year close, interim audit and sports commitments that get in the way. I'll see what I can do. Certainly need no convincing to get me there.:thumbsup2

Don't forget that the Bruins use illegal sticks and shave the ice one inch thinner to slow down those speedy skaters and help limit fast breaks. Who knows what they can come up with when the game is at Gillette.:lmao::lmao:

Right now we are looking at a cruise over Christmas but DW did mention the game so you just never know.

Awesome!!! Sounds like a great time!!!

Plus if you feel the need to get into a park on your off day you can always upgrade the day at the gate.

:rotfl::rotfl:

You know, why is it that the Pats just can't be great? There is always some kind of controversy following them (Belichick) around. Does anyone think that a deflated ball allowed them to win that game on Sunday? No. They should be bigger than trying to fudge the rules.

Good morning from the land of football purgatory. That ball boy is clearly losing his job!:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

AKV is the perfect place to have some downtime too!

Sorry to hear this... it happens more and more. A friend of mine had it happen to him numerous times too. What a PITA. It seems like once it happens to you, it will continue to happen. :headache:

I haven't been to a hockey game since the last home Whalers game.... Is this game going to be New Years Day?

Top O the Morning Dads! Beer & bacon for all mixed in with a Disney something here and there.

Agree with rest days. We did 4 days, park every day, open to basically close except 4th day when we did AK. Me & DW held up better than the 17 and 20 year olds. From now on, at least one day off which was my plan but DW talked me out of it. Kids will love AKL, that's our home resort.

Sorry to hear about that. We had ours compromised while at WDW this past summer.

Right now we are looking at a cruise over Christmas but DW did mention the game so you just never know.
Just making sure you got the deck plan stuff I sent - happy planning.

Something for the Ontario Dads.

Well, keep us updated. If it works out and I can get tickets I will.

They can't just be great because Belicheck is not likable and he doesn't give a $#%$#@ about making everyone happy (And because everyone hates a winner). It will come out that they have not "fudged" any rule that the other teams have not done. All of them do it. If you don't believe that then you are just a hater. Funny that they didn't check the Colts balls. Let's make an example out of the Patriots because it's easy and then everyone will have to stop. Just like the video taping. All teams were doing it. The reason the Patriots got in trouble was because they intentionally disobeyed when told to stop. It wasn't considered cheating when they won the Championships, but everyone wants to make it sound like they were the only ones. Jerome Bettis still thinks they "stole" his championship and called them Felons yesterday. What an a$$clown.

Of course someone intentionally did it or had the ball boy do it. They all do it and everyone knows it. It's only an issue because it was the Patriots. I for one have embraced the villain role and have now put my full support behind the coach, QB and team. It is fact that the balls were adjusted to the correct air pressure at half time. It was a close game before that and they were blown out using regulation balls. No one wants to discuss that. Anyone wonder why we hate the Colts? It started with Manning whining all the time and having to change the rules because the Patriots always won. I like Luck and think he will have a great career. Unfortunately, they won't win anything until they stop blaming everyone else for losing.

Not in CT very often, but will certainly be in touch on the next trip to see if you are able to meet up. Not sure we have any customers there. I'll take a look and see.

. If a linebacker can tell the ball is not heavy enough, I'm sure the official should be expected to tell as well.

I heard the LB say he did not make the complaint.

They can't just be great because Belicheck is not likable and he doesn't give a $#%$#@ about making everyone happy (And because everyone hates a winner).
.

That's not it for me. I don't hold honest success against anyone, and admire those for their hard work (as I don't work hard). Why don't we celebrate Madoff for being a financial genius? He was successful - but he cheated. I guess I just want to continue to live in a world where I can tell my children that working hard will get you ahead - not cheating.

Tom Brady is a hard working, successful QB, which is why the Patriots are successful.

Good news on the trip. Those ticket prices sure have increased over the years. The resort is an enjoyable part of the WDW trip though.
