DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Happy Thursday. DW had to go out of town for work yesterday, so it was up to me to get both dds to swim & tennis practices last night, return home and feed them, dd to swim at 5:30 AM today, & other dd to school. My chauffeuring and pizza pick skills are intact. And, even managed to fix the garbage disposal in there. I think DW was afraid I'd burn down the house or forget a kid without her supervision. :lmao:

Home from the Six and watching Drake courtside at the Raptors game.

Who cares about Drake. Did you get to see KD?

Was Mike there too? I can't see any matches or a lighter...

Have a magical day guys

You really actually want to see that? Sure, when you're drunk, it sounds like a good idea.

I just want to say--it's always a great comfort to know that I can miss out on a couple of days and then come back and see everything is just as it was in here. Never change, fellas.

Glad we can be here to entertain and educate. :lmao:

but Thursday is the morning I take DS5 to school, so thats a highlight.
Ah yes, they grow up. So how often do they go to school when they first start in the UK? My girls had pre-K at age 4, so they went only once a month for half a day just to get used to school. Then the year they are turning 5 they start full day kindergarden in September.

I think most our wives would think that. I'm not sure I've ever had my girls all day by myself.

Yep, it's similar. Over here when they are 4, they have to do 15 hours a week. Once they turn 4.5-5, in the September they go full time to reception which is 9am to 3, and then they stay with that until 18 when they go to University. Both of ours have been in pretty much full time school/nursery from about 18months as we both work.

It's a bright and crispy morn over London today fellas, welcome to Friday. May your hours be short and your bacon crispy.

Top O the Mornin Dads! On the FIL front he made progress for a couple of days and yesterday was back to not doin well. BIL & SIL came into town yesterday for FIL birthday weekend and our kids are joining tomorrow. We'll see if this boost his spirits, determine if he is just complaining to complain or if he need to get into the hospital - whish us luck. Going to reach record highs here today over 80 and with day off from the grind gonna do a bit of yard clean up, outdoor Christmas decorations and help DW with inside decorations. Oh yea, also gonna take that pic of the "backside" today :rotfl: Have a great Friday and even a better weekend gents.

Let us know if there was something you messed up that DW figures out upon her return. We always think we have things covered and then there is that oh #%^€ moment  Also, sorry about your Louisville last night.

Morning gents.
Not a bad morning here. -2C/28F. Still warmer than normal so not complaining.
Went to an awards ceremony for DD19 last night. She was one of a few students who received bursaries/grants. It was mercifully short.

First day off of three for me. Pretty rare to get an extended weekend off. I guess work thought so too, so that's where I am now.
Still... should have Sat/Sun off and the weather's supposed to be good.

Happy Friday. Another beautiful day here. Made it to the gym yet again this AM, so I'll try to make this a new habit. It does give me more time to recover for tennis. Our Christmas parade is tomorrow and oldest dd has an out of town swim meet. So, I'll be stuck somewhere in a crowd of people tomorrow.

Yup they showed him on TV too.

Sad that you're following Drake over KD. LeBron is still the best player, but KD is fun to watch as well.

Glad to hear FIL doing better. I was at tennis last evening when DW made it home, but didn't hear any complaints last night or this AM. So, it looks like I survived.

Yeah, UL laid an egg last night. Granted, their losses have been on the road, but Jackson had a really bad game. There was little chance of them making the playoffs before the loss, and now there are none. I still hope Jackson will win the Heisman, and I don't think there is even a close 2nd.

Congrats to dd, and enjoy the time off.

Good afternoon fellas. Well, it's been an interesting couple of days for my house. Woke up and got ready as normal yesterday and came into bedroom to find DW sitting up in bed holding her chest. Said she was having severe chest and back pain. She was not presenting the typical symptoms of heart attack and she refused to go to ER. After a bit back and forth, called 911. EMTs agreed she was not presenting symptoms of a heart attack and the EKG onboard the ambulance did not show anything bad. Took her in anyway. Started doing test of a pulmonary embolism which came back negative. So, sent her home still in severe pain with some good meds. Woke up this morning and still in pain unless she's taking the meds. Going to see family doc this afternoon. Prayers for answers, please.

Once things get back to normal here, I'll catch up on all the banter. Which I need at this point...been a stressful couple of days.

Prayers that whatever it is is defined and treatment takes care of it. Hang in there and again prayers.

Well, being in a crowd for a Christmas parade is not a bad thing at all.... the other one.... not so much.

Oh, man. Hope everything works out okay.

I bet!

The cooking has begun. Just started the stocks for the gravy bases. Notice I said stocks, one turkey based, the other vegetable based. Such is life with the veg head.

I think DW was afraid I'd burn down the house or forget a kid without her supervision. :lmao:

Glad you didn't burn down the house and still had an accurate head count.

Hopefully he gets cheered up by the family. Have a great weekend yourself.

Hopefully they find out quickly what is causing the pain and soon relive it. Keep us posted.

!

Maybe a bit better than swim meet, but still not all that great. I'm sure it will be freezing cold.

The cooking has begun. Just started the stocks for the gravy bases. Notice I said stocks, one turkey based, the other vegetable based. Such is life with the veg head.

.

Couldn't you just use the turkey based stock and tell her it was a veggie stock with extra seasoning? :lmao:

Morning all. Dropped off oldest dd at school. This is an away swim meet about 2 hours away. She likes to ride the bus with her friends/ team. We decided to let her go and park the helicopter.

I played tennis this AM and now West Ham vs Tottenham.

Later, when it's dark and around 38 degrees, I'll have to go stand outside in the parade. :furious:

I think I am having a heart attack watching Florida beat LSU. "Elizabeth I'm coming to join you." (Old farts will know that line) Fourth and goal and stopped at the 1/2 yard line.

Bad news is we get to face Alabama in the Championship.

May your hours be short and your bacon crispy.
I like it! New DIS Dads motto?

Oh yea, also gonna take that pic of the "backside" today :rotfl:
Well, at least now I have something to look forward to...I think.

Nothing wrong with a short ceremony that gives out money. Congrats to DD.

Going to see family doc this afternoon. Prayers for answers, please.
Sending positive thoughts your way. Hoping for answers and that DW feels better.
