DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Top O the Mornin Dads! Event of the day is our dog is having surgery to remove bladder stones. DW is a wreck as Holly is 11.5 years old and she is worried that the pooch won't get through it. Holly is first and only family pet so everyone is a bit on edge today.

Good luck with the pooch today!

I'm lovin' this El Nino. Yesterday we had a record high of 2.6C/36.7F.
So nice not to need a coat for a change.

Global warming rocks! I'm going to go spray some more aerosol cans in the air when I get home.

If I can find them under all this snow, anyway.

Hi guys!

I had a moment during my late lunch to log on and say a quick hello.

I have to say, after having a dole whip float and a dole whip in Disneyland (and a churro), I am excited to head to WDW and get a Citrus Swirl.

And, if i can find it, I want one of the Cream Cheese filled pretzels I've heard about. (but never seen in the park)

Hope your humping was good.

Not much humping going around here lately.

As do we. It's actually raining out.
Unheard of up here in January.
Will be fun when it freezes.

Really weird weather down here. Another storm front went through and a tornado touched down north of here. At least the temp is up there.

That sucks. Hope Holly comes through and is back chasing her tail soon.

The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland has them. It's in the base of Astro Orbiter, on the other side from where you go up to the TTA.

Didn't know that, will have to check it out whenever I get APs again.

Also, Randy Randall, can you add my trip at the Poly May 22-25.

Happy Thursday. Funny story.

The heater hasn't been working in my car, so I'll have to scrape the inside of the windows off while I'm driving. The family is upset that they are cold, but laugh at me while I scrape the window. Driving home last night, my check engine light goes on. I'm worried and thinking about the doom and demise of yet another vehicle and the painful search and purchase of another one. I go to the mechanic I use, he checks the code and says I need a new thermostat. I ask him if there will be any problems if I keep driving it without being repaired.

He answers. "There won't be any heat".

Well, there you go. :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I sprang for the $150 to fix it.

I can live with that repair bill, but to add it all up, my knee is still hurting from tennis last night and I have a cold now. Is it the weekend yet?

Just for you Norm

Feel free to post pictures of her Rachel anytime, preferable wearing even less clothing.

Can you add a trip for me too?
Anything would be fine, as long as I don't have to pay for it.

I'm not sure it works that way, but yes, I'll take one of those trips as well.

Can you send me some of that global warming? It is way too cold here still.

Barry answered it before I could. DW likes the cream cheese pretzels. I prefer the regular pretzels. It does make it challenging to walk to Aloha Isle, swing over to get my churro from the cart, and then all the way over for a pretzel.

Didn't know that, will have to check it out whenever I get APs again.
.

Well, after 20 trips, my dds may not want to return, but at least they know their way around WDW. C'mon man! :lmao:

I noticed a few weeks ago that my feet were getting chilly while driving. Did a little investigating and found that the switch that controls where the fan blows is stuck on "defroster." Haven't told DW yet, because she'll use that as justification that we need to trade in my Jeep for a different car. It's only got 231,000 miles on it - its just starting to get broke in!

Know how you feel, had to pull the heater core on my truck 2 years ago cause it was leaking and I too cheap to shell out $1500 on a car that's only worth $1000. I just got one of those chepo cigarette lighter heater to keep the ice off the windshield.

Must be careful of the Rachel photos, don't want this to become another deleted thread.

Plenty of warm weather here in TX. 33 this morning and 72 this afternoon. Gonna be like that till March

Thank you! I was wondering that too.
Figured if/when I got back I'd figure it out, but now I've got that covered.

Soon the emphasis will be more on the "broke" part of that sentence.

Yeah, don't tell her. My driver seat recline lever is broke and one window won't roll down (power), but the tumbler only has 150,000 miles on it at 12 years old. Best of all is that has NO PAYMENTS. it also has the rear seats that fold up so I could sleep in it in front of CJ's house. :lmao:

h

I didn't think about a cigarette lighter. I haven't seen one of those in a car in years.

Fantasy Page Updated! :upsidedow

Sorry the "power port". They quit putting the lighters in 10-15 years ago but left the 12V hole in the dash so my kid could shove stuff in there till it smoked. Lol

But seriously you can get a little 12V heater fan to plug in there from harbor freight for like $9. They only last 1 winter and wont heat the cab but will keep the ice away

That's like 14V Canadian for our northern friends

That sucks. Hope Holly comes through and is back chasing her tail soon.
Thanks guys. She is home now and out of it big time so hopefully she stays that way through the night

Also try a jalapeño cheddar stuffed pretzel if ya ain't had one of those yet

Just out of curiosity, how many DISdads won't let you into their houses.
I like to be prepared.

What's a cigarette lighter?

Good to hear.

I was going through some "older" pics on my cell phone. Most of them are a good three years old. I have older ones but they are loaded onto photobucket. I figured I'd post one or two a day just for the heck of it.
There all dad meets. I have to start out with the chairman himself:
