DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I am a political junkie and had the Global News network streaming while watching the game. Interesting stuff and a the result was a bit shocking. Not many people think so, but I love this stuff. Did the same for the last couple of UK elections.

Going in to yesterday I think the prediction was for a minority Liberal government, the possibility of a majority was pretty slim. We went through a period of minority governments and I don't think they work that well when the parties are really not willing to work together and we certainly didn't have parties that were willing to work together.

Afternoon guys,

Father bragging time so indulge me or ignore.

Same here. Saw where Disney has an event for something close to $100. I'll go after the hype tampers down and try to catch a matinee.
.

Brag away. Congrats to the PP

If you don't want to pay the $100 you could just book the cruise that covers that weekend for $4000 and watch the premier at sea.

So our election is over and we have a change in government. For the first time ever, the party that was third has moved to the top.

And the Blue Jays won. Quite the night!

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

I've been dealing with almost constant plantar fasciitis for the last 3 months, first time it has ever been this bad. I've always been able to get over it by rolling my foot over a ball or something but that hasn't worked this time. I've done lots of stretching, some massage, chiro and use some Kine Tape when playing soccer. They all seem to help some but I've never heard of getting a shot.

I roll it over a frozen water bottle, which usually helps. It has just gotten too painful. Today's shot will just be prednisone to try and lower the inflammation. I think the next one is cortisone into the foot.

Well, we got tickets to 4 showings of SW Force Awakens

What is that? Never heard of it before.

Yes, I'm kidding.
Although I didn't know tix were on sale already.

It was cool outside, but I somehow managed to fire up my plantar fasciitis. I'm going to the doc for a shot, and if this doesn't work, then i gotta go to the specialist. :sad1:

Time for some replacement feet?

Mine had the same experience when she had to vote absentee in her first election. She did take a picture of the completed ballot, so I guess it resonated somewhere.

I would much rather see a party I don't care for with a majority then one I do with a minority.
Hate minority governments.

Went to check on the Blue Jays and noticed a football game broke out.

:sad2:

Wait, you mean it isn't just us?

Guess what day it is? :lmao:

Foot is feeling a lot better today, so I'm thinking no visit to the specialist. I'm on prednisone for the rest of the week and continue my stretches. I'll give tennis a go tonite.

Time for some replacement feet?
:

If only it were that easy. Or, a time machine to travel back 20 years ago and tell myself not to get fat.

Been an interesting last few days.
Highs: DD14 auditions and gets accepted into the senior provincial honour band.
Lows: A girl in her band and anime club attempts (and still might be "successful") suicide at school.
At least that's the rumour flying around since the school will only say that a student was "sick".
Because when a kid is sick, the cops show up and they lock down the school.

That's good. But go easy on it man!

Wouldn't work.
Current self visiting younger self: "Dude. Eat better. Exercise more. Don't get fat."
Younger self: "Yeah, yeah. Whatever, old guy. I'm immortal."

Ehhh… majorities can still fight among themselves.
I see it pretty regular ‘round here.

:sad2:
Well given the score, it means that at least they scored a safety.

Wait, you mean it isn't just us?
Naaaa…
We’re just better at it than most everyone else.

Guess what day it is? :lmao:
A good day to head on over to the Café 80’s?

Most Excellent!

Lows: A girl in her band and anime club attempts (and still might be "successful") suicide at school.
Wow… that’s just plain awful.
Very sorry to hear that

First, congrats to your DD, well done!

On the other, that is truly sad. I hate when I hear of anyone taking that step but whenever it is a young student it is even harder.

Happy Tuesday. Managed to survive another night of tennis. It was cool outside, but I somehow managed to fire up my plantar fasciitis. I'm going to the doc for a shot, and if this doesn't work, then i gotta go to the specialist. :sad1:

I feel your pain and can sympathize. Diagnosed when I had my little hospital stay. It is chronic but it isn't typical PF. Heal hurts a bit sometimes but the main problem is when i walk, the calf muscle tightens up to the point that it is as hard as a rock. Same tendon but it affects a different area. Tried everything from stretches, water bottles, braces for the foot, compression socks... Haven't seen a specialist in a long while but maybe I should go back. It really is tough to get around especially at Disney when I have to constantly stop, stretch and rest it. The one thing health wise i wish I could change.

It was a fascinating look into Canadian politics and how the government runs. Learned a few things.

Sorry I'm a Royals fan and that hurt when I checked the score on my lunch break last night. I liked todays score much better.

Welcome and you must be a happy camper right now. No dogs in this fight so I am just sitting back enjoying the show.

Well given the score, it means that at least they scored a safety.

Because that's what you want your football team to do... score a safety as their only points of the game.

Most Excellent!

::yes:: Thanks!

Wow… that’s just plain awful.
Very sorry to hear that

It's pretty much unfathomable.

First, congrats to your DD, well done!

Thanks!

I know. I looked up stats (in Canada) and the highest rate is for Males 40-50.
When it happens, it's sad. But when it's a young kid.... no words.

Congrats to your daughter. Best in Province seems pretty tough.

Well if the opposition scored zero, then yes...

And I actually witnessed such a game with such an outcome.
Believe it or not, that was one of the most exciting ball games I even watched.

Well done and congrats to DD as well as to the proud Pappa :thumbsup2

Always very sad and especially so with a young individual - prayers

I'm super proud of her! :goodvibes

Yeah. Not a good situation at all...

Well if the opposition scored zero, then yes...

point conceded.

Really! And here I thought it'd be a yawner.

Well done and congrats to DD as well as to the proud Pappa :thumbsup2

Yeah. Such a waste.

Congrats to your dd and prayers for her friend and friend's family.

As for the time travel, it wouldn't work. I knew all that back then and just didn't listen.

I have never head of that, but it doesn't sound good. There was a sock I saw at the pharmacy that holds your toe up for sleeping at night. It cost $35, so I didn't get it. I was going to try meds. After playing tonight, I might drive ack and get it. It is sore.
