DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Top O the Morning Dads! Well, not really but been a while since I could stop in early in the a.m. and a Top O the Morning just makes me feel better. Speaking of feeling better, CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! Not a band wagon jumper just a die hard Cubs fan since I can remember and the disappointments of being a Cub fan one tends to not get too carried away. However, taking out the Cardinals and first time winning a series at home is pretty dang good - we'll see how far this bunch of kids can go but a heck of a ride so far. Also laid out a plan for DDs day at DL this weekend so that her and future SIL have some type of flexible plan of attack to follow.

So between a Top O the Morning, Cubs winning and planning DL for DD puts me in a more happy place. Have a good one fellas.

No, had a friend that passed late last week of a brain tumour.

Just had an emergency meeting request that is sure to have some strong emotion attached to it though.
Very sorry to hear, prayers.
Rough times for a number of us the last little bit so I wanted to share some good news.

I had to use some points before June for this week's canceled trip. I decided to add on to the January stay and was able to get a studio at AKL. Didn't think about a waitlist until the CM asked, so I said sure, a studio at the Poly. Just came through. Second time at the Poly and first staying DVC there. Happy camper right now.
Good deal CJ, very nice.
So, what are the odds that Randall posts a "Welcome to the Club" message, assigning me a membership number? Sadly, I'll bet they're pretty high.
Who are you again? Seriously, great to hear from you.
Make sure you hug your family tonight.
Absolutely and will do!

Afternoon. Was writing a proposal this morning and I hear tap, tap tap on glass by the front door. Open it, nothing there. WT? Start to go back to the proposal and hear it again. Seems a woodpecker is confused and trying to drill a hole in my window. Anyone have a shotgun I can borrow? (In case PETA is watching, it is a joke!) Taking a break to watch The Chew at F&W.

Not for me. I have to pack up the car and drive to the beach. This life of CJ stuff is really cool.

I think the biggest problem last time was they only had the dole whip, but no pineapple juice.

Hope you are having fun at the beach. I'm a Citrus Swirl fan myself so mo pineapple juice would not be a big deal.

Excellent! Hope it's a nice room.

Awesome! One day I'll stay there...just not anytime soon.

Thanks guys. Not sure of the DVC room layout so need to do some research on a room request.

Congrats to the Cubs. It was a fun game to watch yesterday and listen to the crowd go wild. Did you charge the kids for the expert advice?

Mine got back to school yesterday from the long weekend at the World. They enjoyed the trip. Highlights included Halloween Horror and the Gringots ride, breakfast at Kona, Disney Springs and the Boathouse, MK, and eating and drinking around F&W. They didn't have a car so getting around SSR was difficult and the crowds at the parks.

Morning Guys,

Great morning for all the Blue Jays fans. I missed most of the fireworks from last nights game as I had a soccer game. There were a lot of people with their phones out on the bench providing the updates to everyone playing though.

No meetings scheduled today but yesterday's meeting has created 2 more, Friday and Monday. Who would have guessed small p politics could cause so many problems in sport system development. ;)

Have a good one all.

I had great timing last night and turned on the game as the 6th was ending. What entertainment. Good luck against the Royals.

I turned on the game just in time to see the players jumping around in joy.
I assumed that meant they won.
Watched the highlights later... what a weird game!

Top O the Mornin' Dads and a happy Friday Eve.

Good afternoon from paradise. Even managed some tennis this AM followed by some beach time.

Looks like I had Royals vs Blue Jays in ALCS correct. But, I had Cardinals vs Mets in NLCS.

Time for a shrimp and salad lunch. I'm enjoying this life of CJ stuff. I wonder if i can convince DW to let me drive to Miami tomorrow. :lmao:

Sounds like this life is pretty good.
Maybe we should all try it.

What, the kids locked you in a closet or something? Happy birthday to Madison BTW.

Come on down. The living room is still full of junk from the warehouse so you can help me move it.

Morning gents. Friday morning, which I assume is a good thing for most of you.
I'm actually off today and Saturday, but start the work week on Sunday (this week).

Morning Guys,

What a sports feast last night. Auburn/Kentucky was a good appetizer where both teams played well, The Dodgers/Mets entree was exciting and for desert, the UCLA/Stanford game. Still can not fathom how the Stanford receiver caught that pass. For those that did not see it, Google it or watch Sports Center who will probably show it a 1,000 times today. Just glanced at the Atlanta/New Orleans game which also seemed good if you are a N.O. fan.

Florida has a tough one tomorrow going to LSU. Strange news week for the Gators with the starting quarterback suspended for a year and another thrown off the team for thuggish behavior. Then Spurrier resigns from S. Carolina. Lots of good games tomorrow and it is suppose to storm all day so my skinny a$$ will be happily planted on the couch.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Since when is there a manual labor requirement to squatting on your property???

Only for certain individuals, you, Jim and Norm come to mind. Hope things are well up there.

Hey! It's Friday so not all is bad. Enjoy the weekend gentlemen.

Agree, took DS to Buffalo Wild Wings last night for dinner to watch the plethora of sports adding to your list some hockey including both Nashville and the Blackhawks playing. Also looking forward to the weekend of sports except that DW has a friend getting married this weekend and between some "kickoff" event tonight and the actual wedding tomorrow night my ability to just sit and be current with Cubs, Notre Dame, Blackhawks, Michigan / Mich St, FLA / LSU, Bama / Tex A&M, ALCS, etc is down the toilet. Sorry, but when one is over 50 and it's the third marriage, don't trash other folks weekend with a bunch of services / events. Ever heard of Vegas? And of course I am in deep doo-doo as I have been expressing my unfiltered thoughts on this to DW.................. Let me know how the games go >:(

Morning Gents!

Sunny but cool Saturday morning up here. Need to go to the office for a bit today but after that is is game 2 of the ALCS and then a birthday party for a friend.

Hope you all have a good one.

Cool over here too, but at least it's sunny.
My baseball team lost...
My football team lost...
But my hockey team won!

so I'm 33% happy today.

Oh what a beautiful morning....

Turned off the AC yesterday for the first time since April and opened up the windows. Nice to have a little cooler weather and a fresh breeze blowing through the house. Is Fall (and $100 electric bills) finally here?

Tough loss for the Gators yesterday. Was a could have, would have, should have game that they win if they made just a few plays. Another LSU fake field goal to beat them? Still enjoyed the day. Some good games and some ugly games. Now I get to watch the Phins. Big Whoop. We will see if a coaching change does anything but they need to clean out the front office.

Hope everyone enjoys a nice Sunday.

NEVER, EVER schedule a wedding during football season! Saw something on ESPN last year that the Bride's parents went directly from the game to their daughter's wedding in the RV they used to tailgate. Luckily it didn't go into overtime. If and when the Pirate Princess ties the knot, she better not do it on a football weekend or she better have a big screen TV behind the alter.

It was a shock to arrive home to temperature in the 30s & 40s after the week in Florida. This prompted the usual debate conversation with DW - work in KY for 10 more years, retire, and move to Florida vs move to Florida now, work in Florida for the next 18 years or more, and then retire. I think next summer will be the finish line on that debate. Our oldest will start high school next year, so if we move, it would probably be best to move before her first year. Of course, lottery winnings change this whole discussion.

Tell her you want to see where you will be parking the trailer. :rotfl2:

It was really challenging. The different between the Florida Turnpike North vs Florida Turnpike South wasn't very much. I think the car started pulling towards the South exit all on its own.

Sounds like this life is pretty good.
Maybe we should all try it.

CJ has plenty of room. Drive on down. :lmao:

One of these days, you'll regret these offers.

Since when is there a manual labor requirement to squatting on your property???

I'll work for beer, food, and lodging. Wait, that's kind of what I'm working for now.

Florida has a tough one tomorrow going to LSU. Strange news week for the Gators with the starting quarterback suspended for a year and another thrown off the team for thuggish behavior. And, KY would have won that game had it not been for the PED use by Florida QB. But, that's where sports seem to be going. Cheat all the time. If you get caught, don't worry about it. You get to keep all your wins and collect your money.

I got married, for the first and only time, Labor Day weekend to avoid MLB playoffs and start of NFL season. Sad, huh? But, youngest dd was born the following January, right during NFL playoffs. Her original due date was around the time of the SuperBowl.

Oh, she has you wrapped around her finger. But, I'll watch the game behind the alter with you during the wedding. :lmao:

Morning guys,

It's been a bit chilly up here for the last couple of days, hovering at the freezing mark. Made for a cool soccer game last night but in the end we finished with a 1-1 tie and a 3-1 win in a 2 game total goal semi-final for our masters soccer league. Finals next Sunday afternoon and I hope it warms up a bit.

Federal election day for us and by all accounts there should be the highest voter turnout in a long time.

Have a good one!
