DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Good luck. Maybe you could finish the clean up yourself and dump it on the kids lawn.
I would be happy to clean it up just to be done with it, but no truck to haul it with and no chainsaw big enough. The trunk is about 25 foot long and close to 4 foot across. That would be about ...um...eh...a whole lot Canadian even with the discount.

Happy Sunday everyone. Lost in the first round of the local tennis tournament Friday night. Not surprising with my knee, but I did get a new tshirt, so it's all good. Cut the grass yesterday and then enjoyed a relaxing day at home. All are still sleeping this AM, which makes for a very peaceful time.

ergo you saved a bunch of cash which would've been spent anyway so you might as well use it to go to WDW.

::yes:: The plan was for two trips next year, with Spring Break at BWV and Fall Break a split stay at the beach and a MNSSHP. But, there will be a surgery bill.

You could save it and the kids could take turns chopping/ removing it as their home school PE curriculum credit. :lmao:

You need to cut back on things like mowing the lawn; it is hurting your tennis game.

Bacon's done, spuds are parboiling for hash browns, eggs ready to go, toaster prepped...

Oh boy, hurry up!!!!

Norm, sorry about the loss but glad the knee held up. And I agree with Darcy, avoid lawn mowers if at all possible. Aren't the girls old enough to take over that chore?

Better day than I had. Animal Kingdom hot down here. Started to power wash the house and gave up after an hour.

Yup. It was good. Then powered up the BBQ and grilled up some chicken sausages from the local butcher.
Never tried that before, so we'll see.
(Haven't had 'em yet since I had to go in to work before supper time. Brought 'em with.)

'Morning all...

So we have come to another Monday, anyone have big plans this week?

Unless work constitutes a big plan, then I must sadly answer no.
We may get into something this weekend, but that an awfully long way from here.

I wouldn't have even gotten out there with or without a bad knee so you are doing better than I.

PE would be good, but I fear the kids would either go after each other with the axes or have their dad's skill. In college, the woodsmen's team wouldn't let me on because I had a habit of breaking handles.

So we have come to another Monday, anyone have big plans this week?

Pray for drying weather (14+ inches since the first of June), work, contact the State Attorney General about my tree situation, and try to get rid of the last of the excess junk before the family returns next month. So when is the fun part of being an adult supposed to start?

Pretty standard boring week...M-work T-work W-work T-work F-work S-play golf, go see a movie, S play golf, watch a Disney movie...I may be in a rut

Sounds like that work stuff is getting in the way of golf and movie time. Any chance you can sneak in a movie at work on lunch?

?

That's just because I'm too dumb to have any good sense.

There's a fun part?:confused3

Really? I'm having a great time - not as great a time when I'm in WDW - but still a great time. Of course, you had fun making all those kids, now you just have all those kids.

Life kind of sucks right now here.

Miami? Hot girls in bikinis? Short trip to WDW?

Back to reality from what was a fantastic vacation sailing on the Disney Fantasy. Hope all are doing well, gonna try to get caught up here and hopefully post a pic or two from the trip.

Prayers to all affected by the flooding and overall lousy weather circumstances.
The first DDCP - DisDad Club Picnic - at Huber Farms in Indiana.

I thought about calling it the Hillbilly meet n greet, but DDCP sounds better. 5 dads, 5 spouses, and 12 children. We ate a picnic lunch, I drank beers, nerf football throwing, soccer, blueberry picking, ice cream eating, and some peach and blackberry wines to go.
Nicely done guys - sorry I missed it.
Morning All!

20 years ago today I married the woman of my dreams! 20 years later and she still puts up with me.

Congrats a bit late and CJ stole my line - out kicked the coverage you did.

Some good news. Dr said no new damage with the knee, and that I just aggravated the existing injury, and that it will continue to happen until I have it repaired. So, I'm going to try and make it thru the rest of the year and schedule the surgery for January.

Thanks again for all the prayers.
Sorry to hear about the knee acting up again but good to hear that it is not a new injury or that you made the existing any worse.
