DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Oh, God.
Now there's an overly chipper woman's voice bleating out "We estimate your call will be answered in less than. 10 minutes!"
It's looping over and over with no pause between chirps.

At work but not really feeling it today, so what does one do in this situation? Check the disboards of course.

Finished doing the taxes last night (actually they were finished a long time ago, but I just e-filed last night. I owed money and made them wait until the last minute to get it.) If anyone needs a kidney, I have a gently used one for sale.

She also doesn’t see the need to plan a year or so in advance.
You don't NEED to plan a year in advance if you are okay with taking what is left. Personally, I'm not a fan of dining at the Lunching Pad.

"Your estimated wait time is. 35 minutes."
Are you sure you are on hold with Disney. From what I hear the wait is counted in hours, not minutes. Maybe it means 35 HOURS.

On hold with Disney and it's just brutal.
After yelling at the phone that I wanted to speak to an agent, I'm on hold. But not just any old hold.
A recorded voice says "Your estimated wait time is. 35 minutes." and repeats that over and over for several iterations. Occasionally a 5-6 second burst of music will ring out and then the recording will begin again.
Beats what it was doing earlier when every few seconds it would ask me if I wanted a call back (press 1) or continue to hold (press 2). When I'd press "2", it would ask if I wanted a call back or continue to hold. "2" <burst of music> "Would you like a call back or continue to..." "2" "Your estimated wait time is 34 minutes"

Put on repeat... for a while there, I was pressing "2" every few seconds.

Down to 20 minutes now...

B very happy it is only 35 minutes.

Morning, gents.

So... last night, around 10pm, I decided once more to try MDE and see if I could get anything done.
Lo and behold... the trick seems to be to do things when there's no traffic on the website. What I couldn't do with being on hold for over an hour yesterday, I did in 5 minutes online. Lesson learned.

Wait! What? Disney IT actually worked??????
:faint:

Guess I better go party like it's 1999. The apocalypse is starting.

I know. I was stunned.
I guess their IT works as long as there isn't more than 3 people trying to access the server.

I did manage to find a current photo of Disney's server and it looks legit. No idea why they're having issues.

Down to 20 minutes now...
Well, to be fair, I really thought you were going to say you've been hearing the 35 minute wait spiel repeatedly for the last 2 hours.

And just chalk that up as one of the many reasons why I just can't get excited about planning another trip to the mouse.

That occurred to me as well the first time I heard the wait time.

It does require a certain amount of… tenacity.

Yeah, let’s use tenacity.

Sure, you go with tenacity; I'll go with insanity. Maybe a little:

Since it went so well a couple of weeks ago, we are doing it again - we are going car shopping for The Kid this evening. In addition to the gently used kidney for sale, I have a liver going for a good price.
Good luck with the car shopping. I hear that Ferrari makes a decent runaround.

Morning, gents.
Crappy night's "sleep"... oh well. Things to do, anyway.

Knowing you, probably drive 35-40mph.

:rolleyes1

I went 185 with a piece o crap 1.2L suv. I guarantee, once my break in period on my Camry is done, I will do more than 235. :lmao:

Wait... don't take pictures while you're driving 235+.
